Re: Life in UK test

When a ESOL test is taken, a subject topic is chosen in order to test the speaking and listening elements. Topics can be anything the examiner picks, ranging from talking about holidays to transportation etc.. The topic for your wife had been Life in the UK as a chosen topic, this is not the same as...

Re: Life in UK test

The ESOL and Life in the UK test has never ever been combined in any context as far as I'm aware, so you couldn't have done a combined test. I think you are confusing it with the way the system worked in the past. At one point, it was sufficient that the Life in the UK test was considered to be suff...

Re: Can I claim money back from HO for late ILR PEO decision

pelen23 Don't worry, you should be fine. Online verification only applies for tests taken on or after 6 April 2013, as such, no certificate needs to be provided (though personally I would include one as there is no harm is doing so) Tests taken prior to 6 April 2013, you will need to include the cer...

Re: Can I claim money back from HO for late ILR PEO decision

S3cure Can you confirm which awarding body it was. I assume it was Cambridge English, if so, that is a widely trusted and accepted qualification by the Home Office. Issue is Home Office need to confirm the certificate/results are genuine and they confirm this with the concerning awarding body, Cambr...

Re: life in the uk test - lack of dates in october

Normally, you can't book any tests in the next 7 days, it must be booked at least 7 days in advance (and it states this on the Gov website). So the first test is booked from day 8 onwards. That only leaves two weeks of tests being fully booked in your area if that is the case, a bit rare but it can ...

Re: Spouse visa to ILR

If I'm reading this correctly, it sound like instead of the husband coming into the UK to join the wife to live and to work/settle in the UK after obtaining the spouse visa, the wife has instead gone to live in Egypt and join the Husband. Family life has been spent living in Egypt, with only brief v...

Re: Can I claim money back from HO for late ILR PEO decision

Which English test did you and your wife submit? There was an investigation into some English test centres (EMD, TOEIC, TOEFL) regarding fraud/cheating and as a result, the Home Office placed many applications on hold for those submitting English certificates from these awarding bodies while their i...

Re: Regarding Permanent visa for spouse

Your wife can apply for ILR. In fact, she could have applied for it in October 2012 after completing the 2 year period (possible even if the FLR was still under consideration).

Your wife will need English Level B1 and Life in the UK test for ILR.

Re: ILR date CONFUSED!!!!! PLEASE HELP AMBER, VINNY, OBIE

It is 28 days before meeting the 2 year residence which is calculated from date of entering/landing in the UK, not the date the visa was stamped or issued. It can be 28 days before the date the visa was stamped, provided the person entered the UK with 3 months of the issue of their visa. Hi Obie. I...

Re: Need help with ielts results

You only need to satisfy the Speaking and Listening aspects. The Reading and Writing scores can be omitted. As the score of above 4.0 has been achieved in both speaking and listening that is a pass and you meet the requirements. @ networkers that document is a generic one used by application for all...

There are 2 requirements to meet in order to fulfil the KOLL. 1. Pass Life in the UK test 2. English language either ESOL B1 or degree taught in English. You meet the English requirement by having a UK degree. Prior to 28 October 2013, you only needed one of the above requirements but Home Office ch...

If you used the IELTS for the initial entry application (or any other visa application), then you can use it again for ILR, even if expired. This has been confirmed by the Home Office and many people on this forum have obtained their ILR's with use of a expired IELTS certificate.

There are 2 requirements that needs to be met for an expired IELTS certificate to be accepted: 1. It must have been accepted for a previous application for example entry clearance 2. Or if it is being presented for the first time, it must have been taken in the UK and is on the OFQUAL register. If o...

Since you applied before 9 July 2012, you would be under the old rules, 2 years probationary period as mentioned, then you can apply for ILR. John, that is some delay, but that's probably normal for someone appealing a rejection in this day and age. It was the same case for me too. I applied for my ...

Re: English Certificate

The scores are fine and the test can be submitted again for ILR assuming the test is still on the list of acceptable qualifications as you don't mention which test it was.

In addition to this, you wife will also need to pass the Life in the UK test.
