Re: English language requirements for wife's visa from india

Hi, I'm going to apply for ILR in Oct 2014. Just wanted to confirm that I have ESOL Entry 3 (B1) from India when I applied for Spouse Visa. Is it acceptable for ILR now as it was from India. Many Thanks As long as the Home Office still accept the qualification (it's still on their list), It's fine ...

Re: English language requirements for wife's visa from india

Thanks for the reply. But would it be better, if she gains B1 now, as it will cover her for ILR application few years down the line. Regards Sraj Yes, it would be better if she does level B1 and it can be used again for ILR. (assuming rules haven't changed much in several years and the certificate ...

Re: New appointment availability at Solihull peo

Availability depends on how busy it gets. Usually, appointments are released 42 days in advance so they can get booked quite rapidly and midnight onwards is the best time to look. Keep checking at regular intervals as sometimes cancellations occur freeing up slots. Getting an appointment at a conven...

Re: payment by debit card

You don't need to know the exact date for payment to be taken. Just inform your bank that you are intending to make a transaction of £906 via your debit card and the recipient will be the Home Office. As long are the bank is aware, there shouldn't be any problems. Or if you are that worried, then op...

Re: TB cert and 2 month wage slips will they be enough?

Hi I was not sure ,do I have to submit the TB cert with the application or when we travel to the UK? Also I will only manage about 2 months wage slips and 2 months bank statements, because the Eng lang cert is only valid upto 17th July. After the 17th of july the wife will have to sit another test ...

Re: £22400 spouse and child, calculation?

I think you'll struggle. If you are required to show £22,400per annum in order to sponsor your spouse and one minor, then you need to show at least £1,866.67 gross before any deductions per month. This means providing the last six consecutive months payslips and each of them requires to be at least ...

Re: Settlement Visa (Pak) - Evidence of communication

Top Up cards, Load Cards or Phone Cards are not acceptable because they do not show any details of who the calls are made to. See if your spouse can contact the mobile operator and obtain any form of itemized billing. In addition to this, you can rely on other forms of communication, in the day and ...

Re: Oral COurt Hearing change to Paper hearing

It is possible to switch, but the question is why would you want to. Oral hearing seems to be the better option as you can present your case in person rather than having the case decided on paper in your absence. I was able to switch from paper to oral hearing so it can be done (issue with solicitor...

Re: BRP (Tier 1) used for life in the UK test

You will use the ID that you have registered with when booking the Life in the UK test. When you registered on the official booking website, you are given the option to choose a photo ID to present at the test centre. If sounds like you are selected BRP as a form of evidence. You will need to change...

fuzzyhu What's done is done (though no fault of your own). I would start to look at your options. The good thing is this is not a SET(M) application but a FLR(M), so personally I would aim to apply for ILR. Get your LIUK test and another Level B1 and go for ILR. Withdraw your FLR(M) application. The type of applic...

Re: ILR - Spouse Visa - Some questions

I'll try to answer as best as I can. Have a read through the guidance documents that accompanies the application form. It sets out what documents you need to submit and what needs to be included. All this can be found on the gov website. To clarify regarding the English test, no, it cannot be used. ...

1. It's fine to switch jobs while application is in progress (as long as the new job still meets the financial requirements to state the obvious). Just ensure the home office has been informed providing them all the relevant documentations. 2. As long as the home office have been informed, It shoul...

From Sswsz's statement, I think you'll find that Sswsz's has a PEO appointment at the Croyden office, meaning an in person same day application. Originals would have been taken, and any lack of photocopies would have been made by the Home Office. Sswsz You have ever been lucky with home office, we a...

I guess the fact that living in Birmingham and having done the test in London has raised an eyebrow at the Home Office. I guess you're right about the interview. Just to hazard a guess, most of the people who may have cheated in the English tests probably can't speak English at all or at a very poor...

Re: English requirement for spouse to ILR??

As you have used the IELTS certificate for entry clearance, you can use it again for ILR, even if it has expired. No need to take another English test again.

In addition to this, you will also need Life in the UK test for ILR.

Just tell them exactly how it is.

Your husband worked for XXX company from XXX period to XXX period as a (Job title here).

Now, He is working for YYY company in the same position.

Its not a trick question. They are only asking general questions which is normal for the interview.

Re: Doing an Inspection of Accomodation

Your local council would provide this service, and some estate agents do too. Best to make inquiries. I went for a local estate agent in my area as they were cheaper than what the council would have charged. Its a simple report that will assess against the Housing Act 1985 that will verify there wil...
