Re: Document upload

3. File names. I've uploaded everything with names that have spaces, eg. "Student finance letter 2019.pdf", should I delete them and reupload with dashes like "Student-finance-letter-2019.pdf", to be on the safe side? Not sure what the difference is, if any. Was this the instruc...

Document upload

A few questions about uploading documents supporting 5 years' residency: 1. Would 2 docs for each year be enough (P60s from employer plus student finance, for each year). I'm also adding letter from employer, landlord+tenancy agreement and confirmation of college course. I think that should be enoug...

Re: UKVCAS appointment - changing to a free one

Thanks, I think I'll do that, still will lose £10 for nothing but it's worth a try. :(

UKVCAS appointment - changing to a free one

I feel so stupid. I did not realise that there are free UKVCAS appointments. I'm so used to them charging for everything at every step that I assumed it's normal to pay over £100 for an appointment  Now that I've booked a paid one, I'd like to cancel and get my money back (minus £10 as I unde...

Re: Uploading documents (5 years' residency)

The date of application is the date you submit and pay online. Ypur supporting documents must be dated on or before this date. The biomterics appointment is irrlevant to this. Thanks, that actually clarifies it, thinking about it now it's obvious :) So I'm not going to bother with any documents wit...

Re: Uploading documents (5 years' residency)

No stamps in passport, but have the other letters.

Moderators, what's happened to my thread, looks like my questions have been merged which is fine, but replies are all over the place now.

Uploading documents (5 years' residency)

I'm at the stage of uploading docs, haven't booked the UKVCAS apointment yet. I can book one up to 28 days in advance. My question is - for evidencing 5 years' presence, is it better to wait for a couple of documents like new council tax bill, tax return and P60 that I will have available within 4-6...

Another question about PCNs

I'm reading numerous threads on this issue. I've had 4 Penalty Charge Notices in all my driving history of 10 years (no FPNs), all issued by local Councils. 1 for making a prohibited u-turn, 1 for parking in a loading bay and 2 for driving in a bus lane. 3 out of these 4 were when driving other peop...

Does it matter if my B1 test expires soon

I just wanted to make sure, my B1 English language test test is expiring soon, but as long as it's valid on the day of the AN application, it's ok? It will expire soon after, between paying and biometrics appt. Also, it's possible to upload some supporting document(s) later, before biometrics, as I'...

Re: EEA durable relationship question.. difficult situation

Following up on our case. Things have become complicated by the fact that my partner had been an overstayer and later claimed asylum using false info (name, nationality and d.o.b.). We really want to get this thing straightened out. If she puts in a fresh eea2 application with her original id and ad...

Re: EEA durable relationship question.. difficult situation

Question. I think HO used the reasoning that by failing to produce id, my partner failed to provide evidence of her identity as a non-EEA national, thereby not fulfilling the requirement of 17(4). IS that something we can challenge?

Re: EEA durable relationship question.. difficult situation

Thank you Obie. At the hearing HO brought that up and argued for adjourment of the case but the judge disagreed. It seems the JR is now the way to proceed.

Re: EEA durable relationship question.. difficult situation

Thanks. Just to clarify, the judge upheld our appeal re. relationship evidence, and said that HO must now reconsider whether to exercise discretion and grant the RC card. So they didn't _order_ HO to grant it. HO refused on grounds of lack of id document.

Re: EEA durable relationship question.. difficult situation

I am updating this thread in hope that somebody can help. When my partner's application was refused, her lack of id was noted but refusal was on grounds of not providing enough evidence of relationship. We appealed and won the appeal, the judge accepted that we are in relationship and noted that my ...

Re: EEA durable relationship question.. difficult situation

Thanks Obie. If you look at the date of my original post, that was over a year ago. We have now been living together for 2 years almost to the date. Also, the difficulty with utility bills is that all our bills are included in rent (except broadband), and she would not be able to pay them in her nam...

Re: EEA durable relationship question.. difficult situation

Can anyone help? It's now our second EEA2 application and it's been refused, reason: not enough evidence of durable relationship. We didn't have any bills or bank statements in both our names so we sent our tenancy agreement (which they said without further documentation HO can't verify its authenti...

Re: EEA durable relationship question.. difficult situation

Does anyone know how does the Residence Permit work in terms of travel? Is it possible at all to travel in Schengen area without a passport but only with RC?

How about HO travel documents? Can they issue one based on RC if there is no passport? Are they valid to Schengen?

Many thanks.

Re: EEA durable relationship question.. difficult situation

Regulations have been amended, they now allow for the consideration of applications with alternative proof of nationality, such as you describe. The guidance you are reading may be outdated, or simply inaccurate. I would expect in your partner's case that a right of appeal would arise following a r...
