Will it be easier for non-EU parents if the UK leaves EU?

May I ask this question?

If the UK leaves EU, will it be easier for non-EU parents to join their children to live in the UK?

At the moment, as you all know, it is virtually impossible for non-EU parents to live permanently in the UK with their children.

Will Brexit change this situation?

Thank you

Re: Can I bring my father to the UK if I move to Ireland?

Thanks a lot. I was wondering if other people have done this and could give some advice on how to do it.
For example, is it alright if I move to Ireland for 6 months. Then my parents will move to Ireland with me for another one year before we come back to London?

Re: Can I bring my father to the UK if I move to Ireland?

Thank you. So it seems straightforward and relatively easy.
Just another question : If you work in Ireland, does the Irish authorities allow your parents to live with you indefinitely?

Dear all, could you pls advise? I live in London and our family have British passports. I want to bring my father to the UK to live with me. However, I have read many articles and threads in our forum. It seems impossible to do it. A friend suggested that if one moves to work in Dublin, Ireland for ...

@sagareva: Thank you so much for your clear explanation. So it does not have an impact on the parents issue in my case.

Does the Sean McCarthy case have any impact on your parents?

May I ask this question? We know that at present, it is almost impossible to bring your parents to the UK permanently. Today I read EU judges have ruled that the UK cannot block non-EU family members from entering the country without a travel permit in a decision that potentially opens Britain’s bor...

Can you bring your mother if you don't need state funding?

May I ask if a British citizen can still bring in his mother from Asia for permanent residence if he can prove they will not claim any benefit in England? Yesterday I received a leaflet from my local MP, who said Immigration is the no.1 concern of residents. She lists measures that the government is...

Is there a 6-month gap for a UK visitor?

May I ask this question? I read that 'according to UK immigration rules, that a visitor must stay in the UK for no longer than 6 months within a 12 month period." Does it mean that after staying for 6 months, the visitor must be outside of the UK for another 6 months before they can come back? ...

Re: Does the Directive 2004/38/EC apply to C-type visa?

What do you mean by 'dependent on' in this case? According to what I read, apparently the dependant only needs to submit their passport and a birth certificate to certify the kinship.

Does the Directive 2004/38/EC apply to C-type visa?

May I ask this question? I am a British citizen and would like to apply for a visa so that my mother, holding an Asian passport, could visit an EU country with me. I base my case on the Directive 2004/38/EC which is about the right of citizens of the Union and their family members to move and reside...
