Re: Postponing citizenship ceremony

Hi Cullinan, Thanks for your reply! I was under the impression that it is the UKVI who would have the authority to grant any extensions whatsoever. Would it just be enough to convince the council and not the UKVI? Because if it is only the council then I think I might have a better shot. Maybe try d...

Postponing citizenship ceremony

Hi guys, Are there any exceptions to the requirement of attending a citizenship ceremony within 3 months of receiving the invitation letter? As I am a seaman, I will not be home to attend the ceremony within the required timeframe. I wonder if due to my working circumstances I am eligible to postpon...

Re: Permanent Residence Card - Processing Time 2017/2018 (NEW Thread)

Non-EEA PR application+EEA spouse PR application for change of name (spouse already had PR card). I used the EPRS as I needed my passport to travel, so I had to send my wife's application (EEA sponsor) for a new card together with mine, stating change of name as the reason for her new application. Merchant seaman applying for naturalisation

Hi guys, I have just received an approval letter for my PR,which means that I should be able to apply for naturalisation within a year. Due to the nature of my work, merchant seaman, I will not be fulfilling the residency requirements, therefore my only route will be application by discretion. I rea...

Re: Merchant Seaman 230 days out of UK in the last 12 months

Hello, I am a Merchant Navy Deck Officer and I have the ILR since 02.10.2012. I have applied through NCS last week for naturalisation but my application was rejected. In the last 12 months I have 230 days out of the UK due to my type of work (Merchant Seaman). As far as I now from the Home Office w...

Re: EEA2 EXPIRED WHILE ABROAD.HOW TO RETURN TO UK

For reference to somebody who might look for a similar answer to my previous post. I just got a rejection letter together with my documents back today. Since it was not a refusal, they refund 40£ (25£ goes to administration fees). The rejection was due to me providing a driving licence instead of an...

A driving license probably won’t work under 21(5).
Thanks Vinny. Do you know of any options available to send additional supporting documents??

IS DRIVING LICENCE ACCEPTED AS SPONSOR ID FOR EEA2 APPLICATION?

Will my application be automatically rejected? or Will they at least contact me to send the appropriate ID document? Shall I just withdraw ...

Re: EEA2 EXPIRED WHILE ABROAD.HOW TO RETURN TO UK

Thank you for your explanation Obormot. So in this case if the FP will not reset the clock or affect my PR in any way then I believe this is my best option. My wife already has the PR card, so I think that proving her treaty rights from abroad should not be a problem if I take her PR card, our marri...

Re: EEA2 EXPIRED WHILE ABROAD.HOW TO RETURN TO UK

That's correct Vinny. There's not enough time to apply. Thence my concern. I know somebody may wonder why I did not sort it out before going to sea. The reason is I have been waiting for a ship assignment for 2 months. I did not expect still to be home at this time. There was a problem with my rotat...

Hello everyone. I am a spouse of an EEA member and currently hold an EEA2 residence card which is expiring in March 2019. Re: EEA4 fast processing times or wishful thinking

It seems that the processing speed is really getting better. I got my resident card day before yesterday as well :D submitted the application on 11 February 2014...took less than 2 months. Pretty happy! :D
