Changing name on BRP after marriage - do it now or later?

Hello! I had a quick question as I am looking to change my name after marrying a British citizen. I am currently on a Tier 2 work visa and can apply for ILR next February. I was unsure of the following: -does the change in name on BRP need to be done within 3 months of the date of my marriage certif...

Re: Tier 2 extension - HR amended COS start date to earlier

Hello, I am submitting my application on Sunday so need some help. I am going for Tier 2 extension and my HR have amended my COS date from 12 Feb 2017-12 Feb 2020 to 30 January 2017-29 January 2016 in a sponsor's note. Will HO have any problem with that? My visa expires Feb 12 2017, but we changed ...

Re: Tier 2 general extension salary code of practice

Hello to bring this up again. If we state on my Cos request that my salary is £40,300 (the minimum for SOC code 2133 for a 39 hour week) but my contract states 38 hours - that it will be accepted as 38/39 is £39,267? I have heard that they pro-rate up from 39 to 40, but not down? Any advice would be...

Changes to SOC code salaries while waiting for COS

Hello! I am about to start my Tier 2 extension application and my company is applying for my COS next week. I am worried though that between when we do this and when I send in my application, the new SOC codes may come out (last year it was published Nov 19). My current salary is matched to what I n...

Re: Marriage notice when on Tier 2 visa

Thank you for your response, CR001. Do you know if there is a limit for how early I can give my notice? I have only seen *at least* 28 days, but would I be able to many months in advance to make sure I have the HO's permission with plenty of time to spare before my civil ceremony date? Thanks again :)

Marriage notice when on Tier 2 visa

Hello all, I wasn't sure if I should be posting in this section of the site, but was wondering if anyone had some experience dealing with getting married while on a tier 2 visa. I am due to get married next year to a UK citizen and will still be on a tier 2 visa. I want to stay on this instead of sw...

Switching from Tier 2 Work Sponsored to Unmarried partner

Hello I am currently on a Tier 2 sponsorship visa through my employer. I have lived with my partner (who is a British citizen) for 2 years and we are looking to switch to an unmarried partner visa. Has anyone else had this issue? I am not sure whether I need to call up the Home Office to make sure I didn't make a mistake.

Re: URGENT Tier 2 Application Help

Hey manci, thank you for you reply. One of the first questions the form did ask me was what my current granted leave was, and I answered Tier 4, and it asked me to provide my degree certificate proving I just completed my programme of study. I have done all of these things, but I have still answered...

Re: URGENT Tier 2 Application Help

Hello, I recently applied to Tier 2 General from Tier 4 student, and I provided evidence with my degree certificate that I am exempt from the labour market test and also that my CoS covers my maintenance. But I am worried now that I answered the question "Are you applying under Post Study work ...
