uktraveller.030209 Please link to cases where applicants were asked for evidence of absences where absences were <180 days per 12 month period. Re: English Language for Spouse - No Degree certificate

When is your wife due to apply for ILR ? If she has sufficient time before that, a sure shot solution is to talk to the college/institution in India who issued her MBA degree. PBS guidelines stipulate that in case your degree is not identified on NARIC database (when you search on points based calcu...

Re: Advisor has lost all documents

1, No, you need the original LitUK test pass certificate
2. Your wife can visit Indian embassy and get a temporary travel document if they won't issue a replacement passport. However,
based on the police incident reference, they should do that for whatever fee they might charge

Re: ILR Success @Croydon 31/01/14 - Director of limited comp

well, congrats mate! and thanks for putting up the information for others' use. The only concern I see with your case and the list of documents that you submitted is that more than half of the documents on that list are never required for ILR application using SET-O form even if you have been in the...

Re: ESOL Skills For Life City & Guilds

If the certificate clearly doesn't stipulate 'City & Guilds International ESOL Diploma' then I'm afraid that might be rejected by Home Office. Either call City & Guilds call centre / office and confirm that or as advised by the others here, take oneof the other exams. You might find this lis...

Re: ESOL Skills for life (Speaking & Listening) Entry 3

This question is a bit premature. Yes, as of now, ESOL Level-3 qualification is good enough for english language competency required for SET-O based ILR application but, then you specified you are due to apply in Nov 2014. Although unlikely but, the english language requirements might change by that...

Re: PEO appointment booked but lost all documents

The first thing you must do is lodge a FIR with the local police about the lost documents (even if you have not lost your passport and/or biometric permit). If and when you submit your application and submit photocopies, you will be asked for police incident reference number by Home office. This ans...

Re: Advisor has lost all documents

It is the worst nightmare come true, but there is 1 procedure in place to handle this situation - 1) You must lodge a FIR with the local police. At least lost passport (and/or if your wife had a biometric permit already issued before) must be reported to the police who will give an incident referenc...

Re: English Language for Spouse - No Degree certificate

Your question has a rather limited context to it, so this answer is based on the following premise - That you will apply for yourself and your wife using the same SET-O form. - That you wife has never before applied for a UK visa where she'd had to provide a degree certificate or any other proof of ...

Yes, there have been many cases of where people have applied for ILR more than 28 day in advance of 5 year qualification period.
All the applications were outrightly rejected

This answer is based on failed applications using SET-O forms version 04/2013 and 12/2013

Re: SETo applied more then 7 months ago

The delay in your case may be for a genuine reason as well, if your route to ILR has been rather complicated and needs further investigation. SERIOUS ADVICE - Unless you are seriously financially handicapped, NEVER apply for ILR by POST ! If you have an option to, then book a premium same day servic...

Re: ILR Help (SETO)

What you must do - 1) You must get a letter from your employer/employers confirming for each period of absence from the UK that you were on paid holidays. 2) Carry with you photocopies of all the immigration stamps on your passport (which is anyway a part of requisite documents - photocopies all pag...

Re: seto form question-when did you enter UK

The question also clearly states (the date on which your application for ILR is based). So, in this case, It will be your HSMP approval date i.e. 2008. Time spent in the UK on Student visa strictly does not count toward ILR qualification unless its a case of long residence (for which it is separate ...

Re: Confused about SETO section 6 question. Please clarify.

Leave the section 6.11 blank if you have never stepped a foot in any crown dependency ever!
Section 6.2 covers all absences from the UK already.

This answer is based on actual response of other successful applicants who submitted their ILR application using form SET-0 version 12/2013
