Entering and Re-entering Ireland on a work permit - Question

Hello all. First I want to thank everyone who has helped me on this board in the past few months. My green card permit was approved and I've been in the state for a few weeks now. I've just been registered with the garda and received my GNIB card and new passport stamp. My question is for when I wan...

How long does it take to receive a permit in the post/mail?

Apparently my employer received a copy of my green card permit a week ago from today. I'm located in NYC and still do not have it and my flight is next week. Is this usual to not have it after a week? What are the usual timelines for this sort of thing? I just want this agonizing wait to be over wit...

Re: Green card - a question

Yeah, this is ridiculous!! You hear other people have it done and in their hands in less than 2 weeks!!! Must be nice. My employer said he got a copy or the permit a week ago from today, so why is it not in my hands a week later. I'm only in NYC. Is it normal for it to take over a week to arrive? I ...

Re: Green card - a question

How long did it take for you to receive your green card in the post? I've been waiting a week and I'm in NYC! This waiting game for a visa has been horrible for me. Nearly 4 weeks since it was applied for and still do not have it in my hands :(

Re: Pre-check Stage: - Rejection - Green Card Permit

I'm not sure what the situation is really myself. My employer did the application (their first time!) and I've heard back from my employer that the DJEI is being difficult and asked me to send in an extra document, so I'm guessing during the "pre-check stage" the application was rejected d...

Pre-check Stage: - Rejection - Green Card Permit

So my employer last week stated the visa people are being difficult, so i guess that means a few things were not submitted, and or not filled out correctly?? Reading on the DJEI website it says there are 3 stages 1. Pre-check Stage: 2. Processing Stage 3. Appeals In the Pre-check Stage they reject a...

Applicant Notification?

Just out of curiosity, how is the work permit applicant notified whether the application is approved or rejected? Obviously I know if it's successful the permit will be sent the address specified, but is that the only way or knowing, or do they e-mail you? Notify your employer (They applied) beforeh...

Hey thanks for the reply. What do you mean they checked beforehand?

How long did it takes from submitting the application till you received the permit? I think my employer is just mailing it off.

Re: PPS Number, Banks, Passport Questions

Thanks guys!

Where does it say to submit college transcripts? I don't see that listed anywhere on the application; however, I've heard to send it. Really confused on that part.

Re: PPS Number, Banks, Passport Questions

Anyone!? I guess the main things here are, do I need a transcript from my college sent with the green card application? I didn't see that as a requirement, but I've seen people post about sending one, so I'm confused! The other two important questions I had were... Can you work before receiving your...

Sorry for the multiple questions but I haven't received any responses back from the work permit staff in Ireland!! 1. Full of li...

Re: 3 Green Card Questions

Thanks! That really helps a lot. Another question if you dont mind. Say for some reason you did switch companies after a year, how does that work in terms of perm residency/citizenship timeline? Does it prolong the process, or does the timeline stay the same. Example, switch employer, new green card...

3 Green Card Questions

So I was offered a job today in Dublin; however, the company doesn't know much about the process yet, so basically we're both learning about it now! 1. How do you know the establishment you'll be working for is "a company registered with the Companies Registration Office and the Revenue Commiss...

Re: Irland wok visa options for Non-EU nationals

You pretty much can't, which sucks!! If you are from the USA and you've just graduated, you can get a 1 year visa. I don't qualify for that anymore and even in IT, which is a shortage skill, it's proving impossible to find a job to sponsor me from the states. It's really unfortunate. Basically it's ...

How hard is it to get sponorship?

Has anyone hear successfully found a company to sponsor them? From outside the EU? If so how difficult was it and any tips? I just started applying for jobs and already it seems like an impossible task. I work in IT currently and have 2 years experience as well as an IT degree. I know IT is consider...

Re: List of companies who can sponsor in Ireland?

Also, is there a good IT job site in general? They say IT is in demand but I'm not seeing very many IT jobs posted on irish job boards, along the lines of tech support/networking/engineers, rather all web based. Any good IT job boards??
