Re: Child Surname change - before naturalization or after?

Some more info on the impact of name change on the OCI :
The impact appears to be minimal; after reading this its apparent that the Indian Consulate accepts the change of name and re-issues the OCI card+Sticker.

Re: Child Surname change - before naturalization or after?

My case is different than yours, but can share my experience. I changed the surname of my step-child i.e. from 'ABC DEF' to 'ABC XYZ', but only in the eyes of UK laws. The Indian passport still bears the ABC XYZ and I do not plan to change it because (a) there is no need since the child will have it...

Re: £18,600 : Salaried or Non-Salaried ? Formula/Calculation

Amber,

Thanks for this. You said "Non-salaried income, is calculated as I stated below" - I couldn't find it.

Also, would you be able to shed some info on the two questions I post in my previous post in this thread, please ? ( Wed Mar 26, 2014 10:54 pm)

Re: £18,600 : Salaried or Non-Salaried ? Formula/Calculation

"No, non-salaried income would be total gross income from employment held throughout the 6 month period, divided by 6 multiplied by 12. If the 4 weeks off was for example, unpaid sickness, it would not break the 6 months period. In turn the applicant’s partner can show that they meet the annual...

Re: £18,600 : Salaried or Non-Salaried ? Formula/Calculation

Can any of the moderators/members, confirm that less than 26 payslips (holidays etc) is ok ? i.e. I have had 4 weeks off in the middle, so only have 20 payslips over six months' period. Can any of the moderator/members, confirm that the formula used for non-salaried employment (CatA) is to add up th...

Re: £18,600 : Salaried or Non-Salaried ? Formula/Calculation

Sorry to jump in What about the Dividends ? If someone takes Just dividends from the company and in the last 12 Months total dividends comes to £18650. Would that be sufficient ? I am pretty sure that Dividends are included. But what I am not sure is which category your 'income' belongs to i.e. whe...

£18,600 : Salaried or Non-Salaried ? Formula/Calculation ?

I have read and re-read the "AnnexFM 1.7 Financial Requirements", but in my case, I cannot find the CALCULATION to use to come up with a gross figure (that the form requires) : My situation is below : (1) Same job for more than 6 months. (2) Hourly paid, flexible working, permanent job (3)...

(2) Hourly paid, flexible working, permanent job (3) Different pay every week My questions are...

Joint/Co Sponsorship - Is it a valid process ?

Hi,

A Child (Indian) is the applying for 'Settlement Visa'. Mother is British, who will no doubt be the sponsor.
But can the Step-Father (British) also sponsor at the same time ??
Does anybody know if Joint/Co-Sponsor is a valid concept in the Family-Settlement route ?

Re: Few Original Documents lost by Consulate

Adding to above....
They have not send back the fully-filled Application (VAF4a).

Is this normal ?

I would like to have this back too, so that it helps me in filling out the re-application form (I am going to re-apply)

Few Original Documents lost by Consulate

Hi, I have had my FamilySettlement application rejected. The BDHC in India has sent back a pack full of the case related documents. It has just come to my notice that there are a few original documents missing. Not sure if its deliberate or just an admin error by the Visa Office. I need to re-apply ...

Re: APPEAL ALLOWED WHAT ABOUT CHILD VISA

Thats correct. It does say 'maintained adequately', but no mention of £18,600 minimum limit. This figure seems to be for most other Settlement categories, but not for 'Child of Settled Person'. The ECO has clearly quoted this figure and declared that I fall short of that. I just need to find what 'm...

Re: APPEAL ALLOWED WHAT ABOUT CHILD VISA

I have a similiar case (Child Settlement applied, parent is a settled British Citizen). The ECO refused the visa stating that 'Adequate Financial Requirements' are NOT met, which I think is totally totally wrong. I believe, under Rule 297 , the parent doesn't have to fulfil any financial requirement...

Bhargav, Thanks. The baby was born before I became British Citizen, So the baby cannot be registered as British. The baby has an Indian passport now. Thanks for the Supreme Court case ! URGENT*To Appeal or Not?Refusal issued to Daughter of Brit

Hi, Visa application was lodged at BDHC, Bombay under "'Indian Child - applying to join the sole British parent in UK'" I have just been handed a Refusal-of-Entry-Clearance with following reasons : (1) There is an existing Legal Guardian in India and hence the British Parent doesn't have '...
