Re: Professional referee: Manager/Personnel officer

Also, someone responsible for the recruitment of employees? Like an HR specialist in a limited company (again, company is big...so there is more than one).

Seriously, any help is appreciated!

Professional referee: Manager/Personnel officer

Hi all, Time has come for me to sort out referees and I would like to know if anyone succeeded (or failed) their naturalisation using a development manager under the category "Manager/Personnel officer" as a professional referee. I work in a large IT company (limited) and my line manager o...

Re: EHIC - European Health Insurance Card

Hi,

Yes I have both...always worked due to my VISA, just wan't sure because it states you need to be resident (which I believe I am with IRL) but better be safe than sorry with the rules here in the UK.

EHIC - European Health Insurance Card

Hey all, I currently hold ILR from a Tier 2 General route. I just want to be sure that it's ok for me to get the EHIC card so I can travel as turist to EU countries and in any emergency, use the EHIC card. I never bothered to get one before but as I am currently pregnant, thought it would be a good ...

Re: Applying for ILR without letter from employer

Tier 2 rules hardly changed in the past several years Tier 2 hardly changed? I guess the NHS surcharge, the NHS surcharge part II (from £200 to £400), the Immigration Skill charge (extra £5000 for the company to get you a 5 year visa), the sometimes twice a year raise in visa costs are nothing then...

Re: Applying for ILR without letter from employer

The changes were anually before and now they are not anymore. For regular people that are not involved in immigration matters or read weekly HO's website...yes, these changes are very unpredictable. And Brexit did mean more people getting their setled status/IRL/citizenship where before, migrants fr...

Re: Applying for ILR without letter from employer

Hi jasongosling, I have been in a similar situation, but managed to convince HR to do asap. Don't know if you have noticed how Home Office changes the rules and cost of visas latelly...these have been escalating very quickly without any warning. Also, Brexit without a deal may affect the processing ...

Re: ILR - PBS Dependant - Cohabitation documents

Hey Mobiusrex,

The application gives you a list of documents you need to present...that's the minimum you have to submit. Then, reading the guidance and this forum you get the rest (like the cohabitation proof, for example).

It's the recipe to avoid problems and get the IRL asap.

Hope it helps

Just be aware about any salary spikes just before IRL may be investigated (check other posts about th...

Re: Ilr application on saturday

hey eyecon1,

I submitted my application during the weekend and received the answer only on Monday, around 11 a.m. As far as the UKVCAS people told me, it counts as you did the application on Monday so tecnically they could answer until Tuesday morning.

Re: ILR - Pre-Application documents needed

Forgot to say: The letters must use the company's logo/details template. If your HR is nice, I suppose they will sign and stamp the list of absenses (since they were aware of them). In case they dont, I believe you will need to write a cover letter...same style, explaining each absense and using the...

Re: ILR - Pre-Application documents needed

Hello mpitillo fellow Brazilian :) English test: 1. IELTS is a proper test (don't know how difficult it is to book), but the GESE Grade 5 (B1) is a 10 min chat that you can book for the next day. 2. GESE is dead easy...I would go with it unless you can make use of the IELTS test later for something ...

Re: Tier 2 Dependent documents upload

Hey, If you expand each category, it will list what you need to upload. Yours is a bit different from mine as dependent (Tier 2 General VISA issued May 2014 and extended in October 2016 - so it's not considered for the absence limit). What I have: Mandatory: * Other (previous passports or any travel...

Re: Passport Upload & Question on Absence date

Hi, Based on my current experience (last month's application): 1) I didn't scan blank pages and they end up scanning at the appointment, but only for the current passport. 2) Yes, as it contains part of your travel history (I suppose) and the previous visa. The instruction says that you must present...

Re: Difference between UKVCAS CORE CENTRE vs SERVICE POINT?

Thanks again tier11417,

There change of salary is old (June 2018) is well above the requirement (promoted from mid level to senior), only problem was that HR forgot to update SMS...but it was done later anyways.

Re: Difference between UKVCAS CORE CENTRE vs SERVICE POINT?

Thanks for the quick response tier11417. I had the idea that the appointment for the 24 hrs service was more or less of an interview (to check documents, scan what is necessary/check what you scanned, ask questions like immigration officers do every time we arrive in the UK). Do you think if I uploa...

Re: Tier 2 extension change of requirements/rules

I found this in the guidance: 22 When you assign a CoS to extend a migrant’s leave in the same tier and category, the start date on the CoS should be the day after their current leave expires but the migrant cannot apply for leave more than 3 months before that date. The current work situation: * CO...

Tier 2 extension change of requirements/rules

Hello all, This is supposed to be a quick question for experts. Did we have any major changes between 2016 and now to extend a Tier 2 General visa? I am helping my HR for someone else's extension and lately I have not been very active in the Tier 2 visa forum because I am about to get my IRL (so all...
