I have recently obtained ILR (Indefinite leave to remain) but my 2 kids and spouse are still on Tier-1 dependant visa's and they will be eligible to ILR only after 3yrs. aparva is it your application recent one and they did not ask for any evidence for absence?in the recent form there is place where you need to fill in details explaining what evidence you have provided for absence?

perfect.....so no of absence days before 5yr period does not matter?
But still good character and Employment History from the date of Entry in UK after first EC does matter?

Thanks Moderator and also I remember some where reading the below statement

"In 3 years immediately preceding the date of application, you cannot have more than 270 days absence"

not sure if it is in this forum or in some other guidance docs. Does this applicable as well?

this is interesting.Do you know the lawyers are advising this only for those dependants whose main applicant got ILR based on Tier-2 route or Tier-1 route or both?Seniors/Moderators any advise if any such rule exists?

Great so once ILR done then it is done forever. Thats a big relief. Hopefully at-least no more hefty visa fees, no more document preparation and sleepless nights before PEO appointments checking the documents n-times.

say if we are not planning to go for passport and not applying for citizenship in that case what happens after dec2024?should we re-apply based on the rules in place during 2024 for ILR again to get it renewed or will it automatically renewed for another 10yrs as ILR assumption is no expiry date?

it is same with me the BRP card arrived recently and it shows valid till Dec 2024 as I have applied in march so the ILR is only for 8yr 8months? Why are they not giving it for 10yrs?moderators / seniors any advise pls?

are you on Tier-1 General route?if your intial entry is 2010 so you have already completed 5yrs?what was the proof you have submitted for english during your extension?

yes that is my understanding but they cancelled other trainings stating that it might cause problem to her visa as those trainings are funded by UK gov so that is where I am confused.So it seems should not be a problem. Just to be on safe side is there any way we can check if any entry is gone again...

thanks moderator I was concerned for the reason they often request NI number and they stress only if she has NI number then she can attend the training and even though we gave the copy of the visa which states 'no course to public funds' only recently they noticed and said that now she is not eligib...

how about UK NARIC certificate does it has any validity. I have done UK NARIC validation for my degree while applying for first time and also have got my degree taught in english from my university as well can I use these now instead of IELTS expired certificate for my ILR application in 2016.
