I called HO this morning and was told my application has been approved and my documents dispatched to my address in UK.

I am excited...but could the officer have made a mistake...

i think all the documents u mentioned are in order.

payslips
bank statement
letter from current employer
utility bills
tax certificates

you just need to prove you are economically active and have decent accomodation I think thast about it

The tax card issue is only applicable in Lagos state. Meanwhile the issuance takes sometime, if you can approach the tax office either yourself or through a tax consultant you might still get the paper certificate (on special application though). I doubt whether they will recognise the diploma.. but try NARIC
As far as I know, the HND in nigeria that takes 5 years to obtain is not recognised by naric as a degree.
they always say a diploma is a diploma.
just like a postgraduate diploma is not equated to a masters degree.

no thats not the reason.
most people request update on their cases thru emails or phoning the HO
some are just told a decision has been made while others are told what kind of decision was made.

processing times is now
btwn 5 and 14 weeks
new times published on the workingintheuk.gov.uk site
but it may be later!!!!
but in the last few months most applications are processed by 3 months.
some even in 3 weeks!!!

you dont have to provide evrything on the list.
i dont think you need letters from accountant if you have you income tax returns already.
