Citizenship Ceremony

To all:

This is such a special time, enjoy it! Try to embrace and absorb it all, take time to savour the experience. It is easy to get caught up in everyone's energy, especially in the queue, and lose the moment. I loved every minute of it....I hope everyone else does, as well. Congratulations! :D

Re: Does DOJ accept online (e-statements) Bank Statements ?

We used e-statements for our citizenship app. No problems there. In todays paperless world, it seems only right. Good luck.

Also retired folk....landlords need pps number, so this would impact many people (tax payers, economy boosting retired people.) Doesn't make sense at all, at all.

Re: Passport Application

No. We submitted original passport and birth cert., bank statement and utlity bill for each (4 in total), application with garda cert, 4 photos - 2 signed and certified (btw 2 were returned...we thought that interesting) and the Naturalization form. I went by what the passport express site said and ...

Re: Passport Application

Yay! Passport received today...submitted July 25, so they are back to about 12 working days. Also we submitted originals. We received all back, but a bit dismayed that birth and naturalization forms were bent and folded. I know, not a huge thing, but they were not submitted this way. Ah well. Oh and...

Re: Green card - a question

I don't believe so. The company should do all the work, and pay the fee. This shouldn't take too long either, as there is not the usual posting in newspapers, what was the FAS site etc. Good luck.

Re: Non-EEA national joining EU Spouse - help!

Hi, First re: funds....there have been many theories, the going one is about 1500/month although recently someone suggested the amount equivalent to what a person would receive either on dole or pension (600/month) should work. Proof of health insurance (as American) would be good as well. You did n...

Re: Citizenship Timeline Tracker 2014

There could be so many reasons for the difference in times of process. I sincerely hope that there is not a priority issue. I do believe that some cases are just easier than others. For me, it took 3 months, but I was in the systme with work permit, taxes etc. Also our background check was dull, I'd...

Anyone suffering from PCCS?

Hi all, I hope everyone enjoyed last Friday as much as we did. But I find I am now suffering, a bit from PCCS- Post Citizenship Ceremony Syndrome. Anyone else? You get so focused and geared up for it, that I think you run on adrenalin and when it is all over, well, it is over. I would tell everyone ...

Last time I went through it (almost 2 years ago) it was processed within 3/4 weeks. Very fast compared to the previous years, but it was a renewal. I think the first one takes about a month.

RE: jestew. Yes, Deidre Murphy is lovely and very knowledgeable...but I think you will find a much warmer/helpful attitude with the rural immigration officers anyway. Phyllis Crowley in Killarney is also wonderful. So, I suppose the the overall advice is....if you can go rural for all your business, ...

Re: Stamp4 Query

You have asked this twice, have you read the responses? I will repeat my response. This is a gray area and could be interpreted either way. Talk to the local citizens bureau or immigration or write the DoJ, but I think the answer will be no.

Re: Naturalisation Questions

It cost us 20.00 for two of us....certified copies of passport photo page, birth certs and our marriage cert. Don't forget the signature/affidavit page of application, too. I think 10/person is a great price, personally. Good luck.

Re: Green Card to Stamp4

Not sure at all about this. At first, I would say no, but after re-reading the inis site, there might be a possiblity of a stamp 4. It seems to me you have 3 avenues: write a letter to the DoJ (can take a bit of time for a response), talk to citizens rights or talk to your local GNIB. Also, my inter...

Where is your new job located? Will you be visiting, before moving? I ask because I would contact the local TD or councillor for some help. You could also visit the citizens rights office

We submitted copies and the only doc's that we had certified were the birth certs, marriage cert (husband likes to say he kept his maiden name) and the photo page of passports. All is well, as we are on for the 4th.

Re: Got second stage letter today

It was about 5 weeks from 2nd stage to approval for us. From what acquaintances told me, it usually takes about 6 weeks for garda vetting regardless of who/why/what. I mean whether it is for job, working with children or the DoJ.

Hurrah! Hubby and I received our invites. We love the fact that it is the 4th of July as it is both prophetic an ironic, but thoroughly fantastic. 8.40 for our queue, so hotel reservations are made. We'll do the train in a few weeks. SOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited!
