Re: OCI or Indian Visa???

This is a good link from Cox & King which are official agency for OCI applications in USA. https://www.in.ckgs.us/faq/oci/general-oci-questions/848/who-is-not-eligible-to-apply-for-an-oci-card#848 1) Depending on your wife job position, chances are very slim that your wife will get OCI Card. But...

Re: Indian passport renewal in London, UK

From VFS FAQ Can UK address be reflected in Indian passport? Usually an UK address is not permitted on the Indian passport. However, in exceptional circumstances only when the applicant proves that he/she does not have any permanent address in India and additionally, he/she has Indefinite Leave to R...

Re: OCI Application HELP please :)

If VFS accepts it, then you got a chance. As long as you have Birth certificate with details of both parents and prrof of india origin of Parents / parent - one is eligible for OCI card.

If required, I will have to surrender passport first and then apply for UK passport. Any knowledgeable input, especially based on perso...

Re: Is Surrender Certificate Mandatory of India E-Visa

E-Visa van be recieved without Surrender Certificate.
Passport can be surrendered in india as well as UK after returning.

Once you apply for OCI card, Surrender certificate is a must.

Re: Travelling back to UK on Indian passport with British citizenship

The story is not clear. You and child went to India on expired UK visa of son. As long as your son has valid indian passport, UK authorities and Indian authorities will let you board the flight from UK to India and let him enter India.
Where is son now? India?

Re: Travel to India on Indian passport after British citizenship

3 month Grace Period rules are universal for all the countries, not only British Passport holders. In some countries, Indians who renounce their citizenship spend a lot of time before getting new passport of foreign country. For such people, 3 month grace period is handy. Once you get Foreign passpo...

How have members on this forum gone about getting a 2in x 2in pictures done for the purpose of surrendering Indian passport (and I'm assuming for OCI as well)? Traditional 'passport size' in the UK is different, so I'm wondering what is a convenient way of getting a 2in x 2in size done. Thank you f...

Re: Travel to India on Indian passport after British citizenship

If you have not recieved British Passport yet, you can avail Grace period of 3 months. If you have British Passport and still using Indian Passport, this will amount to Fine / penalties and also stopped from boarding the flight. Best advice is to get eVisa once you get British Passport or continue w...

Re: OCI Application from India

If parents are in UK, how did child reach India? Surely one of the parent will visit India with the child. That time one can submit the application. Online Application is there with FRRO and I think 2 visits will be required as per experience of other applicants.

Thanks for the reply guys! I believe we can stay on eVISA for 60days and that would be sufficient to get the OCI done. With respect to this - 1. May I know how many times do we require to visit the FRRO (as we have to visit VFS twice here in UK) 2. Is one of the parent mandatory for submitting OCi ...

Re: Whats the need for submitting forigen passport

If you look at the last page of your OCI card, your Passport number should be written there. OCI card is also electronically linked with your passport. It is to prevent misuse. You will need to show both passport and OCI card to enter India. Thanks a ton for the clarification @takdeerwala. And also...

Can we apply for OCI for our new born while they are on eVISA?
If so, can we please let me know the application process.

Thanks
How many days are you planning to stay in india on eVisa ? If time is not any consideration, apply from India.

Re: Oci card for british citizen child

You cannot have two passports. Indian Law prohibits 2 passports. You cant apply for OCI while having valid passport. Approach 1 looks fine to me. Surrender Indian passport, get surrender certificate and then apply for OCI card.
