It is for that same reason why I used the NCS service. I dont have to give them any original documents so that they can lose it. Sure its more money buy that money is well spent vs the troubles you will now have to endure with dealing with UKBA and reporting the id as lost etc.

i hope so too, judging from late Oct 2013 timelines, a lot of people were just having the fees deducted in Jan which was pretty shocking. hopefully they have cleared the backlog and deal with us like the Feb 2014 applicants or faster.
