Re: Help with Schengen form

Follow up queries on Field 25 and 30 - my wife's passport ends on 12th March 2017 and her BRP ends on 1st March 2017. In light of this, should I maintain the dates below or do they need to be changed? Lastly, #28, what does this relate to? #28 Entry permit for the final country of destination, where...

Help with Schengen form

Good morning Filling in my wife's Schengen visa application (first Schengen application) and have a couple of questions on the form. We're travelling to Zurich, Swz and leaving from Geneva, Swz and we're remaining in Switzerland for the during of our stay (10 days). I have a British passport from bi...

Re: Definition of cash savings

Thanks for the prompt response and advice, that's very useful indeed. I won't overcomplicate it, will stick to Cash Savings only and ensure the minimum £62.5k is not touched for 6 months prior to application. My wife's current 2.5 year visa runs out on 1st March 2017, so we would need to book a prem...

Definition of cash savings

Hi there In about 8 months time, I will need to submit an FLR(M) application for my wife and I want to go down the Cash Savings route for ease and simplicity. Hence the need to get my house in order in preparation for the 6 months of proof. Currently we have around £75k in cash savings, in a combina...

Schengen visa application at weekends

I'm looking to apply for Schengen visa for my wife and want to know which embassies are open on Saturday to make the application. We live just outside west London so happy to travel anywhere in London/M25 or surroundings. I work during the week and need to accompany my wife, so weekends are preferab...

Re: Switzerland Schengen visa

That's great, many thanks. If it can be had in 7 working days, that'd be perfect. However, on the link below, it says minimum of 14 working days for Pakistani nationals. Which would push it right to the wire, seeing the next available appointment isn't until Mon 8th March. Or does the 7 working day ...

Switzerland Schengen visa

Looking to go to Switzerland over the Easter weekend. Myself and child are British passport holders and looking to get Schengen visa for the wife – how easy is it to get the Schengen visa and typically how long does it take? Wife has Pakistani passport and is currently 1.5 years into her 2.5 year Br...

Re: Quick Schengen visa

Thanks CR001. I realise that, and as we have several countries we wish to visit in Europe, we're happy to go to the country which is more likely to provide a longer stay Shengen visa. Sometimes we have free weekends and want to travel to Europe at the lastminute - applying for Schengen visa is reall...

Re: Quick Schengen visa

Ok, so there's no quick way to get a Schengen visa - gotcha. Think I'll book something for over xmas instead. Btw, of the countries mentioned - which country is easiest to process and more likely to give a longer visa? Prefer at least a 6 month visa which means we can go for the odd weekend whenever...

I'm a British passport holder since birth and wife is a Pakistani passport holder on her first Spouse visa (14 months into the 30 month visa) We're looking to go to Europe for around 7 or 8 days max, starting this weekend. Preference is Switzerland, Spain, Italy and France (in that order) I don't mi...

Re: Can I claim Child Tax Credit?

Many thanks for that. I've already gone through the Online Calculator and seems I would be able to make a claim. However, what I'm really nervous about is any future problems arising on renewal of my wife's spouse visa, if I claim Child Tax Credit. On what grounds can I claim Child Tax Credits if it...

Can I claim Child Tax Credit?

I'm a British citizen since birth. My wife is in UK on a spouse visa, granted 1st Sept 2014. She is a full time mother. We had our first child in Feb 2015, born in UK. I'm a consultant, but not working at the moment. Am I entitled to claim for Child Tax Credit? My wife's visa restrictions mentioned ...

Re: Child benefit form, spouse under immimgration control

I did the online form and for Q28 it had the option of Other. Online form is better as the questions adapt to the ongoing responses. Oddly enough, Q33 was ommitted from the online form: Is your partner entitled to Child Benefit now or are they waiting to hear if they can get Child Benefit I've check...

Re: First Further Leave to Remain and child Birth Certificat

Many thanks. Ahhhh, so the 2 year rule only refers to cohabitation documents? So am I right in assuming that we need to show documentary evidence, in joint names, every 4 months, for the 2 years just prior to the FLR(M) application? ie 6 intervals In terms of proof, how many pieces of evidence would...

First Further Leave to Remain and child Birth Certificate

My wife was granted her first 2.5 year Spouse Visa which ends 1st March 2017. My wife gave birth to our first child on 6th Feb 2015. As I understand, there is a 2-year rule for documentation submission. To my understanding, that means I can only include documentation dated from 1st March 2015 to 1st...

Re: A1 English Test without a passport?

So glad you got it sorted. My wife used them for her A1 test and they were very quick to post out the certificate. As I recall, it only took 4 days for the certificate to arrive. We had to supply an A4 self-addressed stamped envelope for the certicate. Fingers crossed you'll get your certificate qui...

Re: A1 English Test without a passport?

Give these people a call - your Home Office letter stating the passport has been held may be enough.

They may ask for other ID so explain the situation and see what they say.

Let us know how you get on.

Re: Spouse visa rejected - what are the options?

The sponsor in UK has just received the return of documents and one of the 'missing' documents was right there!

Does this make it any easier to get a review, rather than going to full appeal?

What's the best way to play this to get this sorted as quickly as possible?

Re: Spouse visa rejected - what are the options?

Thanks, very useful advice. So, lodge the appeal within the 28-day limit and request Entry Clearance Manager Review at the same time the appeal forms are lodged. Additionally, another application can be submitted. As this is an 'additional' application, does this receive the same service as a regula...

Spouse visa rejected - what are the options?

My cousin in Pakistan has just received bad news that her Spouse Visa was rejected and I'm trying to help her. Her husband is based in UK and self-employed. The application was rejected citing two reasons: 1) payslip not paid in the correct month 2) CT600 form does not cover the period in question I...
