Re: Can I claim child benefit?

Really? That's great news..

Don't know why, but I always assumed child benefit was always paid to the mother.

Still have some way to go, but when it comes to applying under my name, is it a simple process to not include the wife?

Can I claim child benefit?

I'm a British born citizen and my wife has recently been granted the spouse visa for 2.5 years, stating "no recourse to public funds". We are expecting our first child in 2015. When our child is due, is it possible for me, as the father, to claim child benefit, solely in my name? Or does i...

Appointment for NI number

My wife has recently been granted her first 30 month Spouse Visa and we have an appointment next week at the JobCentre Plus. We've been told to bring in her Passport, BRP and proof of address (will take a recent bank statement) and Marriage Certificate. What happens at the appointment? I was told th...

Re: Fiance Visa to British passport milestones

Yes, I'm British since birth, so you're saying once ILR is granted, Citizenship and British passport can be followed immediately.

So we're looking towards Sept 2019 when this saga can be concluded.

Fiance Visa to British passport milestones

Under current legislation, do I have the correct milestones for my wife's route to British passport. Here's our story thus far: 1] my 'wife' arrives in UK on Visit visa in Feb 2013 2] we meet, get engaged and have the religious ceremony in Dec 2013. From this point, we start living together. 3] she ...

Really? That's great..

What about the 185 day rule, ie must be resident for 185 days before applying?

Provisional drivers license - slightly confused..

I want to apply for a Provisional drivers license for my wife - the only thing that I'm unsure of is the 180/185 day rule. My wife entered UK in Feb 2013 and left in Feb 2014 (1 year and 3 days). She then got a Fiance Visa and entered UK on 5th April 2014. Last week she was granted her 30 month Spou...

Which country to apply for Schengen Visa

My wife has just been granted a Spouse Visa for 30 months (she was previously on a Fiance Visa), I am a British citizen by birth. Now, we'd like to apply for a Schengen Visa as we want to travel through Europe. It'll probably be 4/5 days on each trip and we want to visit most countries over the next...

FLR(M) experience at Sheffield premium service centre

Just want to update the group with my experience of my wife's FLR(M) application last week. My wife is currently in UK on a Fiance Visa and this is our first FLR(M) application. Croydon, Solihull and Cardiff are all close to us (we're in West London) but couldn't get an appointment until this week. ...

FLR(M) question 7.3E (viii) Amount in Account

Confused by this question in the FLR(M) application under 7.3E Cash Savings: (viii) Amount in account? - really confused by this question - what is this referring to? Is this the total of the three accounts listed under "In sponsor’s name", "In your name", "In joint names&qu...

FLR(M) application - online or paper-only?

I've filled in the paper copy of the FLR(M) application, the latest version being "Version 7/2014" https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/336887/FLR_M__07-14.pdf Do I need to fill in the online version of the same form, like I did with my initial VAF4A Fi...

Re: Switching from Fiance VAF4A to Spouse Visa FLR(M)

Aha, so its the payment date - kind of makes sense as the premium appointment could well be some time in the future. So, all correspondence must be dated before this reference date and within the past 28 days. Getting everything together nicely, looking to submit the application and book the same-da...

Re: Switching from Fiance VAF4A to Spouse Visa FLR(M)

One more thing, regarding dates - I just checked and its takes about 5-7 days to get an appointment at Croydon for the same-day visa service. To ensure my documentation is all within the 28-day limit, is the reference date taken from when I submit my online FLR(M) application or the date of the prem...

Re: Switching from Fiance VAF4A to Spouse Visa FLR(M)

I used a solicitor on my first application and he didn't do much, so relunctant to use him again. Plus he took ages to do nothing! Actually, I've been recommended a local solicitor who will do a "lite" application, ie I will put the pack together and he will go over the application to ensu...

Thanks guys, really appreciate your feedback. I'm usually nervous with these things but feel better now. Re: Switching from Fiance VAF4A to Spouse Visa FLR(M)

I was made redundant as the sponsor. Which is why I intend to apply under the Cash Savings route as I did on the original Fiance Visa. I have savings in excess of £62,500 and have had for over 12 months. I have about twice the required cash savings. Made redundant as a sponsor or applicant? I'm afra...

Switching from Fiance VAF4A to Spouse Visa FLR(M)

I’m looking to submit my wife’s Spouse Visa application FLR(M) after she was previously granted a Fiance Visa (VAF4A) for 6 months. What is the emphasis on the Spouse Visa application FLR(M) compared to the Fiance Visa application VAF4A? Do I only need to show what happened AFTER she came to UK afte...

Re: Property Inspection Report and Spouse Passport Attestat

I'm in the situation where I'm preparing my wife's FLR(m) application - can I reuse the Property Inspection Report which I used for my wife's fiance application, which is dated Feb 2014?

Is there a time limit on such documentation?

thanks

Re: PROPERTY inspection report for SPOUSE visa application

I'll shortly be applying for FLR(m) as my wife was initially on the 6-month Fiancé Visa. Can I reuse the property inspection report I used on the Fiancé visa application? We're still living with my parents but the property inspection report is dated from Feb 2014 - is there a maximum time limit on h...
