Re: Set(O) doubts: Tier-2 General to ILR (5-year route)

Hi, Just updating as I got my ILR approved yesterday. Might be helpful for someone. The documents I provided are mentioned below. I did it at Premium Service Centre, Sheffield at 9am. The staff was very polite and quick. They have very good space for kids/families to stay and wait. I provided only o...

Re: Set(O) doubts: Tier-2 General to ILR (5-year route)

Up to your decision, my strategy was I applied myself (main applicant first) then my dependent. This is because touch wood if I got rejected, also would be my dependent, and thus a very big dump sum would be gone (to me). So if you will go to premium service and you can get the decision on the same ...

Set(O) doubts: Tier-2 General to ILR (5-year route)

Hello to all wonderful members here. This forum has always been very helpful and I hope I will get answers to my doubts soon again. I will be applying with family for ILR around June. My Tier-2 General was issued first on 27th June 2013 (we entered on 14th July 2013), but I believe I can apply 28-da...

Visa fee paid by employer..Any tax I need to pay?

Hi,
Anybody aware about taxation rules, if my employer agrees to pay the visa fee for Tier-2 General visa renewal? Do I need to pay any tax on that amount?
Is it allowed, or employer need to show this on CoS by ticking the box "Certify Maintenance"?
Thanks
Gaurav

Re: Changing Employers from Tier 2 to Tier 2

Hi Prasad, That's really sad. Unfortunately I don't think the sponsored visa (linked to a particular COS number) can be used for any other job. But I believe you should be able to do something legally against this employer, as you must have spent a good amount of money in getting the Tier2 visa stam...

Re: Changing Employers from Tier 2 to Tier 2

Hi, Thanks a lot Manci for the detailed reply. 1. So that means to save on fees, I can have new CoS with any date after 26th June 2015 and apply for 3 years visa (to complete 5 years for ILR). Correct? 2. And if I don't change visa for dependents, will it impact their ILR application with me later o...

Re: Changing Employers from Tier 2 to Tier 2

Hi, Than you so much for the information on this forum. I have read all the comments in this post. I am on a Tier-2 (General) visa issued in July 2013 and currently working for my sponsor.
