Re: Traveling on a foreign passport

Any argentinian citizen can stay up to 6 months as a tourist in the UK but my fear is that I would be obviously over staying as I live here.. would it be easy to sort out once we are back? If you're a citizen already, you can't be overstaying. If Argentinian passports allows you to stay in the UK f...

Received approval for only one member

Hello, a couple of months ago we applied for British Citizenship (me, my spouse and our child -- all of us on ILR previously), we did the application all together. The reference numbers are all the same with /00, /01 and /02 at the end. I just received an email today (to my email address) informing ...

Driving offences

Hello, I am applying for british citizenship after ILR and apparently I need to declare all my driving offences, both here in the UK and in any other country. I find it hard to remember, to be honest, since I know I've had at least a couple of parking tickets and a speeding ticket in the USA. I am c...

Re: Applying for citizenship after ILR for parents and child

For naturalisation there is no concept of family or group application. Each applicant is assessed individually and there may be more than one caseworker dealing with your applications. Nevertheless, you can apply together, including your child using the same online account. For the child it is regi...

Applying for citizenship after ILR for parents and child

Hello, I am sorry for the silly question, but am a bit confused. We (me, my wife and my child) were granted ILR on the basis of residence last year (March 2020). My child was born in the UK when we were on a Tier 2 visa. We are now trying to apply for citizenship for the three of us. My child is und...

Police registration after getting BRP

Hello, I have been living in the UK for 3 years under a Tier 2 General visa. When I first arrived, my visa did not show that I needed to register with the police; I confirmed this by calling the OVRO when I got here. Now I changed employers, and I was issued a new Tier 2 General permit, in the form ...

Re: Police registration

Also, the OVRO webpage says: Question: My visa in my passport does not show a requirement to register with the police, can I register anyway? Answer: No, you will need to wait until you receive a requirement to register which can be imposed in your passport /travel document or Identity Card for Fore...

Re: Police registration

But that webpage says precisely:

When you arrive in the UK the visa in your passport will say ‘police registration within 7 days of arrival’ if you need to register.

I will go tomorrow nevertheless, but it's so unclear..

Police registration

Hi all, so we finally arrived to the UK a few days ago! Now, I realized, being a national of Argentina, that I am on the list of people who need to register with the police when arriving. However when I read their information, it says that I should only do it if it appears on my passport/visa or if ...

Re: Tier 2 General - Apply from USA - timeframe

Also, can you confirm whether I need to hand fill any extra forms besides the online application form? Nothing appears here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/usa-apply-for-a-uk-visa/apply-for-a-uk-visa-in-the-usa but reading around, many people also hand fill the Appendix 5 of the VAF9 for...

Tier 2 General - Apply from USA - timeframe

Hi, I have a question. I am applying for a Tier 2 visa from the USA, so I'm filling out the online form, and then I will book my biometric appointment. In the instructions it says that then I have two weeks to post my application to New York. Does that mean that the stamped date should be within two...

Tier 2 General Dependant - two questions

Hi guys, I am moving to the UK in August under a Tier 2 General visa. I already have my CoS from UCL. My wife is coming with me, so she will apply for a dependant visa. We will do it at the same time. I have two questions: 1) about english language requirement. I haven't found anywhere that she need...
