A new forum for DES - Doctorate Extension Scheme

Hi,

May I politely request that a new forum be created for the Doctorate Extension Scheme. Most question relating to the DES are subsumed within other visa category questions and finding relevant answers to DES questions can be a little 'herculean' sometimes.

Cheers

Working for over 20 hours - error

Hi I will appreciate some advice on this issue. I am an international PhD student working part time. I received my payslip recently and realized the total number of hours worked exceeded 20 hours. Upon closer investigation, I realized I was paid for the training sessions I attended. Since I did not ...

Re: TIER 2 Refusal - Help Required

I think that explains why it is important to seek legal advice..as tiny bits of errors here and there could nullify or render your application invalid. Having a COS is just part of the triangle of requirements. These days UKVI have focused on those tiny bits that suggests if the application is genui...

Re: Tier4 switching to Tier2 General - Degree older than 5 y

I am afraid the answer to your question is NO Professional courses are not classified as academic qualifications even if they are at the same level of qualification. e.g ACCA and master's. The guidance is clear on that. So you may have to leave the country and apply as the COS issued will become an ...

Re: Any suggestion could help

PWC and other top tier consulting firms seem to construct a ceiling when it comes to recruiting or hiring experienced professionals who are non-EU nationals. They prefer to recruit/poach candidates from companies on the same rank or has similar top notch profile like itself ..ie big four firm poachi...

Any suggestion could help

Hi guys, I am an ACCA chartered accountant with experience and currently on tier 4 visa. How do I navigate the list of sponsors to get a firm that will sponsor me? Has anyone had luck on this previously? There are many jobs requiring my type of skill but I am restricted by the refusal of most firms ...

Re: Tier 4 application under process very urgent issue

UKVI knows that you are trying to complete the 10 years period in order to get permanent residency so they are delaying ur application. If I were you, I will relax and get ready for any imminent interview. Stopping worrying. It is the prerogative of UKIV to decide. You are not in an immigration dete...

Hi LillyMS,

Did you succeed with your application using the CAS issued by your preferred university?
I am in a similar situation. What is the latest status on the issue?
Thank you

Re: University's Placement Fraud / Urgent help needed

Name and shame the University. I know a case though not similar. The university promoted a course that was not accredited on their website. The uni provided vague information on their website which deceived students. The lady engaged a lawyer who wrote to the school several times. The uni was bullis...

Thanks Brute Force,
I have my CAS already but we know that the issuance of CAS by a uni does not guarantee that I will be given a visa by the homeOffice as both processes are different and independent.

MBA -MSc

Hi Guys,
I want to pursue another Masters. I know it is a risky move as per the Tier 4 Guidance about course progression. But I hold an MBA and would want to study MSc Business Analytics. I did no research or project or thesis in my MBA but the MSc program provides that opportunity.
Any advice?

There is no need to reiterate what we already know as the main reasons behind the immigration reforms. Repeating it on this thread could prompt the moderators to lock or close the thread and prevent anyone from making a contribution to it. The current Govt has made it simple and clear. Re: Urgent Help Needed.Tier.4 Student & Dependant in Trouble

I sympathize with you on your situation. Well. This is not the time to apportion blame. But I must say that you and your wife got it all wrong. The practice of the old UKBA requesting institutions that admit intl students to monitor student attendance has been in place for close to 4 years now. Why ...
