in short - yes, it will.

You will get a confirmation letter from the HO about 1 week or so after they'd received your application, try to take it to the bank to open the account. if they won't accept it, try another bank!!!

I need to know what immigration status are you (what visa do you hold in the UK), and you nationality, your occupation in the UK, and

your girlfriend's nationality, her occupation in the UK, before I can answer any of your questions.
