Re: Tier 2 dependent visa, payment issue with main applicant has ILR

Thank you very much. Does this happen often? I can't seem to find similar posts, but I couldn't see any way of paying the proper amount.

Tier 2 dependent visa, payment issue with main applicant has ILR

Hi All, Not sure which subforum that this belongs on (sorry if I've got it wrong). I've applied for ILR SET(O) based on 5 years on a Tier 2 visa. My wife is applying to extend her tier 2 visa (PBS dependent application) as she is not currently eligible to settle. As part of her application, we were ...

Are my UK born children overstayers once I (father) have received ILR?

Hi, I'm the father of 3 kids under 5, all of whom were born in the UK while I held my Tier 2 visa. Our visa's expire in a week, and I've just attended my biometrics appointment, paying for super priority. I was hoping to register them as citizens before the visa expires, however, I realise now that ...

Re: Proof we live together

Two years worth of evidence from at least 3 sources. Any document can be used that shows your address Thanks so much for your reply. It doesn't seem to specify this anywhere on the online application; it just says document (singular) - is that normal? Also, could we rely on two years of evidence fr...

Proof we live together

Hi All, I am applying for ILR (hopefully tomorrow) based on 5 years as a Tier 2 worker. My wife will be applying to extend her Tier 2 visa. We have completed both applications, and are now double checking everything before submitting. My wife's document list requires her to submit "Document sho...

Super Priority Query

Hello, I will be applying for ILR in about 3 weeks. I understand that now we must provide biometric info at a service point. I will likely use the 'enhanced' service point in Edinburgh. My question is, how booked up are these service centres generally (namely Edinburgh or Glasgow)? Would I be able t...

UK born kids do not require a valid visa to register as British. They have an entitlement to register and are not subject to the good character requirement etc if under the age of 10.
Thank you :D

Re: What happens to my dependents when I apply?

1. Kids - you can register the children as British only once you have been granted ilr. There is no super prioroty device for citizenship though and you can't submit at the same time as your ilr. 2. If she makes an application before visa expiry, she is protected under section 3c of the immigration...

Re: What happens to my dependents when I apply?

ILR doesn't take several months by the way. It takes 8 weeks standard service or you can pay £800 extra for super priority 24 hour service. She extends her visa as a PBS dependent for a further 3 years. She can apply with you and it will be held till your ilr is approved or she can wait till you ha...

What happens to my dependents when I apply?

Hi all, I will have spent 5 years on a tier 2 visa this October, and will therefore apply in September (I understand I can 28 days in advance). My wife is my dependent, but she will have only spent 3.5 years on my visa. We would be looking to extend her Tier 2 dependency after I receive ILR. But my ...

Missing middle name on one BRP

Hi, The Tier 2 dependent visa BRPs have just arrived for my two daughters. We have noticed that there is a possible error. One BRP shows the middle name (as is the case for my BRP), but the other strangely does not. I realise we have 10 days to report errors, but we are urgently trying to make trave...

Overcharged visa fee (i think) - how to get a refund?

Hi All, My visa is for 5 years, and is due to expire late in 2019. We've recent had twins, and I have just applied for a Tier 2 dependent visa for them. On the application, I indicated that my CoS was for more than 3 years. When I went to pay for the application, I was asked to pay £1,408 (the 3+ ye...

Proof of funds question

Hi All, I am on a tier 2 visa and just had twins. We are trying to sort out their visas in time to go home for Christmas, but we might not be able to show 90 continuous days of 2*630=£1260 maintenance. I do have some other options, that I do not know would work: 1) Our savings are held in my wife's ...

No Recourse to Public Funds - Scotland Baby Box

Hi All, In Scotland, everybody newborn baby is eligible to receive a "baby box" which is a collection of gifts for the newborn baby (including a small bed). I am slightly concerned that this might constitute public funds, however. I have spent quite a lot of time asking around about this (...

Re: Proof of continuous residence - US doesn't always stamp passport

Thanks for your reply! I am sure I could muster up something, but I am not sure if things like utility bills etc.. would actually prove a physical presence, only that I have been maintaining an address. I can hopefully get a letter from my teachers and employers (I was Tier 4 and am now Tier 2).

Proof of continuous residence - US doesn't always stamp passport

Hi All, I will be eligible to apply for ILR based on 10 years continuous residence in a few months, and I have a question regarding proof of continuous residence. I will be below the 540 day limit but 100 or so days, but I am worried about my ability to prove this. I have my US passport, but unfortu...

gambling winnings count as employment?

Hi All, This might seem like a dumb question, but I am just a bit paranoid. I am on a Tier 2 visa, and would like to place a few small bets on the NBA finals. I understand there are strict rules about secondary employment while on this visa, but I cannot imagine that gambling winnings would violate ...

Re: Settlement options for my wife

Your understanding is correct. If you apply for ILR (it is not called 'residency'), then she will have to apply on FLR(M) before her PBS Dependent visa expires. The FLR(M) spouse visa will be issued for 2.5 years. There is no other 'cheaper' option. Thanks very much CR001. Just to clarify, my wife ...
