Re: EU4FAM (people who applied recently)

Well, I have applied on 27th Nov, 2014 and yet didn't hear anything from them. They have two weeks to answer. If nothing happens I will go to Solvit.

Re: EU3 Application/Permanent Residence.

I don't think that there is a problem with that if she was exercising her EU Treaty Rights for the past 5 years. If she's looking for jobs, just send a letter to immigration explaining what happened and attach a few pages showing that she is looking for jobs. (Normally those automatic emails that co...

Re: EU1 - 6 weeks & waiting for ack

Finally got my passport back today (25/02) after 9 weeks waiting. Was requested to send more documents. They (INIS) said my wife can get a temporary permission to reside in the State while we wait for a definite answer if I just head down to the GNIB with our passports and marriage certificate. But...

Re: 2015 Citizenship Approvals

I've seen people here applying as spouse of irish citizen and it looks like it is taking forever, why's that? It shouldn't take so long! If I apply as spouse of EU (5 yrs) will it take so long as well? I ask that because my partner is naturalising as Irish, so I dunno what to do... :? Hello mate, c...

Re: EU Applying for naturalisation

Yeah! Maybe I will email then, just in case. And when he gets the naturalisation do I have to tell the immigration that he has become Irish citizen or can I just apply being in a civil partnership with an Irish Citizen? I am not sure about that because I hold a Stamp 4 EUFAM, and I don't know how th...

Hi Jeupsy,

Thanks a lot for your reply. But do you know what happens if he doesn't have 3 in one specific year to prove?

EU Applying for naturalisation

Hi guys, My partner is an EU National and he is planning to apply for Irish Citizenship, we just have a question regarding the proof of residency. It says: "If you are an E.U. citizen for more than five years please submit proof of residence in the State amounting to for a total of five years i...

Spouse of Irish citizens will get visa for the first year for 1 year, than for the second year for 1 years and the third year you will get a visa for 3 years. At the completion of your three years, you would be able to apply for your Irish citizenship. Hi CalvinKlein, So if I am married to an Irish...

Re: Citizenship application

Hi Claudia, From what I understand you cannot get any social benefits from the government within 3 years prior the date of the application. In your case, that you received benefit, maybe you would not be eligible to apply for the Irish Citizenship. As I said I am not 100% sure. So let's wait for oth...

Re: EU fam acknowledgement

Hi, Subu29. Well, I sent my application on 28/11/2014 and together a letter saying that I needed my passport to travel and attached the flight information. They returned my passport on the 10/12/2014. If you have sent your application without this information, email them with the flight confirmation...

Re: EU1 - 6 weeks & waiting for ack

I got my ack letter last Thursday, Thank God. It was almost 8 weeks. Actually when I noticed that it was coming to 8 weeks, I was almost going to complain on Solvit website, but I gave them a last chance and started to email them every two days, asking for an update, of course they gave me automatic...

Hi guys, I am waiting for the ack letter to get the stamp 4, but probably I have got no luck with the immigration. Basically I applied on 27/11/2014 and the only thing I got was my documents back, I sent them many emails and they would reply and automatic response saying that it would take 3-5 weeks...

Re: EUFAM4 Stamp and citizenship

You are correct, if you already meet the 3 years residency requirements when he gets Irish citizenship, you will not need to wait for another 3 years and can apply immediately. That's perfect, Jeupsy! He first came to Ireland in 2011 as a student to study in Trinity, and only in 2012, probably Apri...

Re: EUFAM4 Stamp and citizenship

Hi guys, so as far as I understood (actually I knew that before) a spouse of an Irish citizen can get the Irish passport in 3 years. I am a NON EU in a civil partnership with a Spanish national. He's been living here for, at least, 3 years. So if he waits more 2 years he can apply for the Irish pass...

Re: EU1 - 6 weeks & waiting for ack

We were away for a couple of days and when we returned today, found the brown envelope with our passports and Ack letter for stamp-4. It wasn't a registered post item as we didn't have to sign or collect it. It might seem they have a team of 5-10 people who pick up batch of applications received du...
