Re: Long Residence (10 years) SET (LR) applications

Dear Forum I am sad and confused now about my daughter’s application. Those of you following my story will remember that she applied a week before me in January this year and that I received a complex letter for her in July. Well I contacted my MP to help find out what complexity her application has...

Re: Long Residence (10 years) SET (LR) applications

Hi Forum Update on my application if it helps anyone, as it doesn’t help with general decision time. I applied on 30/01/17 Received documents and biometric card on 22/07/17 – though I missed delivery so redelivery was actually yesterday Biometric is dated 20/07/17. I think an enquiry by my MP had p...

Re: Long Residence (10 years) SET (LR) applications

Hi Forum I wonder if anyone can help me. I applied for my ILR (LR) this year January without my passport as my passport was being renewed then. I enclosed a letter with explanation and copy of passport renewal collection slip. I am currently on FP visa which expires in a year’s time. I got a job off...

Re: Long Residence (10 years) SET (LR) applications

I think you've been wrongly advised by your solicitor. I was in a similar situation, have been a dependant on my husband until we applied for FP and shortly (0ne month) after we were granted my husband who had been here for 10 years before our FP application was finally decided applied for his ILR a...

Re: Long Residence (10 years) SET (LR) applications

Hello Forum

Just a quick question, from your wealth of experience, does 28 days gap policy affect child application too? I appreciate your reply.

Thank you

Re: FLR(FP) and Discretionary Leave to Remain timelines

@Solaced I will advise you don’t break your lawful residence, and just apply before your visa expired. Worst, they will refuse you and there has to be another reason for refusing you, because by the time they will deal with your application your kids would have been here for 7 years. Beside it’s not...

Re: 6 month UK visitor visa staying longer

Vinny did mention that there may be issues with future visas, not that there will be issues with future visas. A six month visa is permission to visit the UK within the specified six months, not permission to reside in the UK for six months. If either the ECO granting the visa or the IO at the airp...

Re: 6 month UK visitor visa staying longer

There may be problems with future visits. When applying for future visit visas, she should also explain why she stayed longer than requested. At Vinny, there can never be any problems with future application, I am saying this from experience as long as the person did not stay longer than the first ...

Re: 6 month UK visitor visa staying longer

If you'restill not sure on this, from experience you can stay longer than stated in your visitor visa application. As long as you do not exceed the 6 months visa given you'd be fine. My mother was given a 6 months visa first and she was here for 5.5 months, having stated in her application she was o...

Re: 10 years long residence application

Should I be concerned given the date my visa expired and the date the application to change to a student dependent is two days more than the 28 days limit? Yes, you should be concerned. Not satisfying the rules is grounds for a refusal under 276D . At Vinny Thank you for your quick response, any ad...

Re: 10 years long residence application

Advice please I came in to UK on a visiting visa until December 2006 when my visiting visa expired; before my visiting visa expired I made a dependant of a HSMP holder application on my husband. This was rejected with a reason that, such visa application could not be made in the UK. Then in January...

Hello forum The visa trubulent journey is nearly over. We have just received a letter from HO that they have granted everyone of us 30 months. However, we need to complete an application for biometric, but all documents have been returned. This journey started since July 2012, and I want to wish ev...

No, you are not being targeted, but have already been asked not to start new posts or multiple posts in different places, so the moderators have moved your post to here, as you already have a thread to keep it in one place with the full details of your case. HiCR001 Thanks for clarifying, I was jus...

Re: FLR(FP) and Discretionary Leave to Remain timelines

@october2013 I have not been in this situation but I could have as my husband also clocked 10 years whilst we were waiting for our family application appeal at the UT. During the wait he applied for ILR as we thought he would be able to since he is not the main applicant of the family application. H...

Re: FLR(FP) and Discretionary Leave to Remain timelines

Hi everyone Yesterday I received a letter from HO, affirming my winning appeal and that they hope to implement judge’s decision. However, I was asked to send our passports to Post Decision Case Unit in Sheffield. Passports were not returned with the HO refusal letter back in 2013, which means the pa...

Re: 10 years long residence applications

Thank you at Kolaxy. The long residence application was a gamble actually, we kind of 80% knew that they would reject it. We will give it until the end of the month and then he will go for one on one appointment for his ILR. Hi all I wonder if someone can advise please? We applied for a family visa...

Re: 10 years long residence applications

Hi all I wonder if someone can advise please? We applied for a family visa just before the new rules in July 2012. We still had three months visa when we made the application. Application was refused in 2013 with a right of appeal, we have been on the appeal since then until this year when we finall...

Re: FLR(FP) and Discretionary Leave to Remain timelines

Hi Solaced Winning party is usually awarded the cost of appeal in any appeal, but the judge said we're not eligible for fee award as the policy in which our case was decided came out after HO decision. Hello everyone Here we go, the timeline of my long fought visa battle and hopefully is has now end...
