Re: Is it ok to take over an already established business?

Regarding creating 2 new positions, you can't sack the previous employees and employ 2 new workers in their position, and show you have created new positions. The UKBA is actually looking for a net increase of total number of working hours provided and not the number of people per se. If you sack 2 ...

Re: Cannot understand this new rule

I believe the key here is to make a contract where your business is getting paid and NOT you in person. Let them pay or issue cheque in favour of your business and not you. Then you can withdraw salary from the revenue generated. Makes things much simpler for extension. I am not sure if you have to ...

Re: Is it ok to take over an already established business?

Thanks for the response attahaas, I realise that Franchise's can be purchased, but what I want to know is, is it allowed to purchase(buy) an independently owned small business that's already set up and doing well? Like for example, buying an independently owned corner shop off someone and then cont...

Re: Is it ok to take over an already established business?

Is it ok to take over an already established business with the entrepreneur visa? I mean say I bought a business that is already established and already doing well or fairly well. Then I use the £200,000 to spend on this business, is this ok? Because an entrepreneur is defined as a person who estab...

Re: Is 1 employee fulltime for 2 years enough?

It is stated that one of the requirements for an extension of the entrepreneur visa after 3 years is to employ 2 people for at least a year each on a fulltime basis. Now I've subsequently read that there is flexibility regarding this requirement. I've read that for example that instead of employing...

Re: Salary from 50000

Whether you pay salary to yourself or to your employees the salary is an expense which is charged to expense revenue summary or P &L account. I never heard an expense is an investment. The money you invest do not sit idle in account its used in operation and generate more money unless the opera...

Re: Salary from 50000

Yes, you can, but it won't be counted towards the expenditure of your investment.

In other words, if you take 10K as your salary from 50K, then your net investment is only 40K.
