Re: Unmarried spouse visa granted!

Thank you! I would advise anyone applying for this visa to get a lawyer or agent if you possibly can because if you are refused (like I was) it will end up costing you a heap more money because your application fee will be lost. Not only that, but you also lose valuable time. It's stressful when you...

Unmarried spouse visa granted!

I just thought I'd post here to announce that I got my visa. I was refused the first time because I did not submit enough evidence. The second, we got a lawyer and submitted lots of docs. Opening that package from Home Office was nerve wracking! My advice to anyone looking to apply for a visa is to ...

Re: Fresh Application AND Appeal

OK so my reading of the legislation is that:

1. You can do it.
2. If your second fresh application is accepted, the home office will withdraw their decision on the appeal.

So what happens with the actual visa in your passport? Has anyone done this? How did it turn out?

Fresh Application AND Appeal

I was refused an entry clearance visa because I didn't submit enough documents. I want to appeal so that I do not have this refusal on my record. But appeals are slow, and I also want to get into the UK so that I can start my life there. Has anyone managed to do a fresh application and appeal at the...

How long to appeal for refusal?

I've been notified I have 28 days. I assumed this was from the date I was served the refusal. I have received advice though that the notice of refusal is deemed to have taken place 28 days after you received it (i.e it's really 56 days).

Time frame and likelihood of home office reconsidering

I want to appeal the refusal I received for a dependent visa. I have heard that sometimes Home Office reconsiders refusals when you appeal and supply them with the right information. How likely is this? How long does it take approximately for them to do this?

Help! Need a good UK immigration lawyer -Appeal

I was refused a residency visa and want to appeal if possible. I keep getting conflicting advice from lawyers. Can anyone recommend anyone good for an appeal. Reasonable cost is good.

Re: Refusal! Apply again or appeal?

The letter from the Town Hall was translated - states I am in a "registered partnership" at a particular address in this country. The start date of this relationship is 2008 (however that part of the document is in Dutch). The other documents are in Dutch. The refusal states: "...you ...

Re: Refusal! Apply again or appeal?

No evidence of live in relationship for 2 years. I provided bank statements, health insurance, house insurance and a certificate from the town hall saying we were live in partners since 2008. Albeit most of the documents were in another language. But I figured they'd be enough because they are "...

Refusal! Apply again or appeal?

I was refused my application for a dependency visa. I am in shock! We were given 28 days to appeal. I want to know whether it would be more advisable in terms of time, money and immigration record to make a fresh application or appeal. I really don't want this refusal to affect any subsequent applic...

What is the process after submission of application?

I've submitted my application and done the biometrics. Now I'm awaiting a decision. Do I receive any notifications that my application has been received and is being processed or anything like that? Or do they only email when they want extra docs or to say a decision has been made? Anyone know wheth...

How long for dependent visa to be approved approximately?

I'm applying to be a dependent if a tier 1 exceptional talent migrant. On the website it says it will probably be done in a matter of days. But I have heard different amounts of time from different people. The last I heard, settlement visas take up to 24 weeks. Is this a settlement visa I am applyin...

Re: Dependent visa- within UK? or outside UK

Thank you! Much appreciated. I also called the visa office and they said the same thing. I can not find the required supporting docs for the Tier 1 exceptional talent visa where applying from outside the UK. Does anyone know where these are? Also, I am trying to figure out what the waiting time will...

Dependent visa- within UK? or outside UK? Supporting docs?

I'm an Australian who has been residing in Europe for several years. My partner and I are immigrating to the UK. He is already there and I wish to join him. I can't figure out whether I can apply for my visa on the basis of our unmarried live in relationship from within the UK, or whether I must be ...
