I wouldn't. you will need to do biometrics and so if they send the biometric letter while ur on holiday and don't do it, they may reject your application.

my husbands visa was refused because of missing documents but on he visa receipt they gave us at the time of application, it was clearly written there that we had provided it.

we appealed and won but it took them 5 months from refusal to overturn.

@robbie_me May I ask why the big gap between approval and ceremony? was it simply the first date available or? or can u book the ceremony for whatever date u want ?

mine is also a PearsonEdexcel Certificate which is on the transitional list and as of November 2015, it can't be used. mind you my b1 was done in Feb 2014. Yeah I know now.

The NCS returned everything back after photocopying and stamping what she copied. She also gave me a photocopy of my LIUK as obviously that won't be needed once naturalised.

It's up to you ultimately but when I attended NCS a couple of days ago, the ncs wasn't sure on this question either since the guidance say the date in which u view to be staying long term....so she rang them and that caseworker told us it goes from very first arrival/ first presence in the UK so com...

They use Royal Mail now as told by ncs lady. my tracking number was for Royal Mail

Give it till the end of next week. try not to panic. if HO failed to take your payment they will send you a letter. you could also ring your bank maybe to see if it shows whether they have recently declined a large payment....
