Re: Applying for a British passport 2017

As a South African, you must do the B1 English test from an HO approved test provider. You are not exempt from the requirement. Sure, I was just reading through the list of countries exempt....I have a CELTA certificate from a few years ago (for teaching English). I wonder if they will accept this....

I am a native English speaker. Do I need to do life in the UK test? What else do I need besides this? Proof of emp...

Change of address after PR application

Hi all I applied for my PR a few months ago but have changed address. I used Royal Mail to re-direct my post but if the Home Office are using a different courier then I will have to notify them. How would I go about contacting them to change my address and will it affect my application? Many Thanks.

Changing job while applying for ILR

Hi everyone I have a question which I hope you can give me advice on.... I have about 3 months left on my EEA2 visa and about to apply for ILR. The problem is that I am thinking of changing jobs and I just wanted to hear from people who have experience in this. Were potential employers or agencies r...

Re: Customs officer never stamped my passport on return to U

Sorry you went through that. It's just poor training is what it is. Even if you had the worst immigration history in the world with deportation orders and visa deception on your record, UK immigration officers still cannot refuse entry to family members of EU nationals. She should have been trained...

Re: Customs officer never stamped my passport on return to U

I don't know why she interrogated you if you already have a UK residence card. Annoying woman. I know, rosebead, it can be very distressing after a long flight when you are tired and just want to get back home :( I had to sit there in front of everyone with my wife(I feel more sorry for her since s...

Yes Vinny, that's what I was worried about. I'll have to make sure I keep the boarding pass and other evidence somewhere safe.

Hello everyone I'm on a Residence Card of a Family Member of an EEA National and the first time I travelled abroad from the UK after receiving the visa, I received a stamp in my passport from Heathrow airport a few years ago. However, a few months ago, I left the country for only the second time and...

Re: Do I have to change from Family Member to Spouse Visa?

Thank you guys/girls for your replies. So am I to understand that I can just wait for the EEA2 to run out and then apply for ILR? How long before it expires can I start applying? I was also wondering if I applied for the Spouse visa, then would they calculate my 5 years from the start of the EEA2 vi...

Do I have to change from Family Member to Spouse Visa?

Dear all, I was granted the " Residence Card of a Family Member of an EEA National " in 2010 with my unmarried partner at the time who was an EU citizen but not a British passport holder. Two years later, my partner was granted a British passport but also retained her original citizenship ...
