Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I hope it is correct to post on here and not start a new Thread. I am completing an application for my daughter. I have a couple of questions please: I only have a certified copy of my marriage certificate and the original had to be sent to the Court when I divorced. They state they only accept orig...

Re: Uk visa for boyfriend to visit from Africa

I have been told to 'play down' the boyfriend thing as it will be more likely they will think he won't go home!! That is the difficult part. So what are you going to say in your letter to sponsor him, that he is your "friend". It depends upon how far along you are in your relationship. If...

Re: Uk visa for boyfriend to visit from Africa

You are in a very similar position to myself, my boyfriend is from the Dominican Republic. The UKBAs main concern will that he will overstay as he has insufficent "ties" for him not to do so, Insufficent meaning, he has no children to return to, no job (self employed), no house. It also so...

Re: Is Visa Possible for Gardeners and Turf Laying

Sorry I do mean non-EEA.

I thought that was the case. I know the friend means well, but I really wish he would check his facts before getting his hopes up.

Thanks

Re: General Visitor Visa – Dominican Republic National

Ok, I will put the correct details.

I will let you know how we get on, although I suspect it will take a couple of months to get everything ready with the online application, having to make an appointment, all the documentation.

Many thanks again

Re: General Visitor Visa – Dominican Republic National

If they've met him - they can sponsor him (actually - anyone can sponsor - but it'll be considered much more secure coming from someone who knows him well). But if you then also say he's your boyfriend - it might look concerning. Yes this was my concern, that they will think he will over-stay. My d...

Re: General Visitor Visa – Dominican Republic National

Thanks for all the help in the past. I would be grateful for some further thoughts. I am not in a position to be able to sponsor my boyfriend for his Visitors visa as my bank account is constanly overdrawn. Would there be ANY chance of his Visitors Visa being approved if I supplied a support letter ...

Re: General Visitor Visa – Dominican Republic National

Thanks MPH80 for all your help. I feel more prepared now and know what steps we need to take to help, as much as possible, with a successful outcome. The main things I think:- * Boost his account to at least $1500, in small deposits so that it shows he has enough for the flight and some spending mon...

Re: General Visitor Visa – Dominican Republic National

Many thanks for the speedy reply MPH80 and helpful responses. Honestly what would you recommend has the best chance of him getting a Visitors Visa, to save more money so I wouldn't have to provide financial documentation and if so how much would be needed? Or just get my bank account in order, so it...

Re: General Visitor Visa – Dominican Republic National

Sorry I don't understand - switch visa?

We just want him to come on Visitor Visa. Are you saying if he has Vistor Visa that is still in force he then can not apply for Fiance Visa?

There won't be any problem with the Financial requirement when the time comes

Thanks

I want my boyfriend who live in Dominican Republic to come to UK, before we apply for Fiancé Visa in the future. I understand that the key thing is to show ties to the home Country to prove that he will return. Here are his details. He is in full time employment Has 3 children (who don’t live with h...

Re: Proving Genuine Relationship - Getting Prepared

LOL with regards to the censoring... just a quick screenshot of the date and initial 'hello' should be enough
Phew! Although I can't see how to do that on i-phone, only to backup, which it will keep overwriting :?:

Re: Proving Genuine Relationship - Getting Prepared

Hi Wanderer,

I don't believe I fulfil the contractor mortgage requirements, beacuse I home schooled my daughter and took time off to get her through here GCSEs, so I don't have to continuous contracts they are looking for, as I have regular gaps 2/3 months.

Thanks

Re: Proving Genuine Relationship - Getting Prepared

Hi SoHopeful, That is a good idea (lots to censor out though  ) We do Skype sometimes, eats up lots of his internet. There are 3 kids - all boys (a lot to take on I know). Salary wise I should be on £50,000 to £60,000. I am contracting at the moment, but looking to go permanent for mortgage p...

Re: Proving Genuine Relationship - Getting Prepared

Thanks Rayking, Thanks for confirming living togehter isn't a requirement. Yes we have met 3 times, the last time we were together for 5 days in an apartment. I realised the EEA probably wasn't as good as I originally thought when I read up a bit more and realised I had to exercise my treaty rights ...

Re: Proving Genuine Relationship - Getting Prepared

Thanks for the reply. Yes I know he has to go back within 6 months, I was hoping he may be able to get two separate trips in that 6 month period and I know he can't work. Or would it be better than he stays for one longer period? The thing is we won't be able to live together continuously before the...
