you can always leave the sections blank and fill them in at the NCS centre after asking them. That is one of the reasons for their existence after all and you are paying for the service. If there is any doubt about any of these issues, I think that is the safest thing to do. Take the form there, ask...

No offence but wouldn't you be better off phoning them up and asking them directly ?

i think the notes say you should put in the date you came to settle in the UK. You must have entered the UK after getting the work permit when the immigration officer at the port of entry would have stamped your passport accordingly. That would be the date. Visits before for other purposes are not i...

I think it is the date you entered the UK on a work permit provided you are claiming citizenship based on a WP+ILR+1 year basis as most people here appear to be. I'm not sure about other situations.

Actually all you really need to send for your son's passport is your wife's ILR letter. It is actually better than sending passports etc. anyway since there is always a risk and you will need your passports if you are putting in a citizenship application shortly. So with your son's application all y...

If your son was born here and you have ILR, your son is already British. All you have to do is send off an application for his passport with his original birth certificate and proof that either the mother had ILR or the father had ILR ( with a marriage certificate etc). You can either send your or y...

yes - caseworkers are the people who actually look at your application and make decisions in liverpool. The people at NCS simply ensure that your application is complete and you are not missing anything obvious - they don't do much digging into the details of your application.

worst case scenario in your case seems to be that the caseworker could reconsider your application after 14 days provided you haven't knowingly lied on your form. I think they appreciate that it can be hard to be absolutely cetain about dates from 5 years ago and the applicant himself also uses the ...

Errr

isn't the answer contained in your question ?

As long as you are resident in Pakistan and not another country you can't apply for this. If people could there would hardly be any point in the policy that has stopped issuing these in Pakistan would it ?

Am I missing something ?

I think the postoffice turnaround time is 10 working days although there is no guarantee. Personally if I had to travel in 3 weeks I wouldn't take the chance and would use the one week guranteed turnaround from the passport office.

hmm

I don't think sensibly there should be a limit on the validity of the test - not less than a few yeas anyway. One can hardly unlearn knowledge of english and life in the UK whilst maintaining residence in the UK ( which you'd have to do in order to use the certificate to apply for citizenship). Howe...

well

Firstly you are meant to present passports covering the last 5 years so yes you will have send these. Re: arabic translation you're taking a chance the caseworker will not get it translated ( or indeed speak arabic !). Presumably there will also be entry stamps back into the UK when you returned her...

I don't understand

Presumably your work permit is expiring soon or at the very least even if you have one that extnds beyond your contract, just how will you legally stay in the country till next October ? if your job ends I understand that the WP is void so I'm not sure how you can get an ILR after that as you would ...

No

It makes no difference. The requirements are simply that it be signed and dated which it is. Basically as of the date of signature the referee is vouching for having known you for a certain time and you having a knowledge of english etc. In any reasonable time after that he is hardly likely to forge...
