Re: ILR with multiple, but spent convictions - Advice Needed

All, I just wanted to follow up with this post. My ILR was successful last week in Croydon. I simply wrote a detailed cover letter which listed the relevant details of the offences (dates, sentences, etc.) as well as all the mitigating circumstances. Apparently that was more the enough as the case w...

Re: Recommendation for ILR checking service via solicitor

Hey Obie. Thanks for the reply. 1. Yeah, I saw that certain councils provide a checking service. We actually used this for my wife's citizenship application by post. But I wanted to have my ILR checked as well (by council or solicitor), but still be able to go to a premium appointment. 2. Yes, I am ...

Re: Recommendation for ILR checking service via solicitor

Sorry, I don't know what you mean by "basis"? I am applying for ILR. Currently on a Tier 1 (General).

Re: Recommendation for ILR checking service via solicitor

Based in London (Camden council) and will apply using the SET(O) application.

Basically, I'd like a 2nd opinion on everything but need to use the same day premium service due to time constraints.

Recommendation for ILR checking service via solicitor

Hey all, I plan on getting an ILR premium appointment this October. I was wondering if anyone has ever used a solicitor as a checking service? I.e. I would like to send my completed application + suipporting documents to a visa solicitor and have them check them for accuracy/correctness but then sen...

Re: ILR with multiple, but spent convictions - Advice Needed

Thanks for the update. Follow up: is it fair to say the criminality threshold for ILR is "lower" and less subjective than citizenship? I.e. it seems like the decision for ILR is more based on the guidelines in "part 9" of the immigration rules, which are a bit more stringent than...

Re: ILR with multiple, but spent convictions - Advice Needed

Thanks so much Amber. So just to be clear, are you saying I "no" to question one and "solicitor required" to question 2? Or "no solicitor required" meaning you don't think I need a solicitor.

Really appreciate this

Re: ILR with multiple, but spent convictions - Advice Needed

So my questions are:

1. Has anyone heard of other people with a simliar background being denied?

2. Do you think getting a solicitor is worth it in my case?

Would really appreciate anyone's opinion in this matter. Thanks in advance.

ILR with multiple, but spent convictions - Advice Needed

I posted this in another post but thought it will get lost in the shuffle so I'm reposting. I plan to apply for ILR this November. I have a pretty straight forward application - have been on Tier 1 (General) for 5 years. No issue with points, time spent in the UK, etc. The only issue I have is a cim...

Re: Soliciter Fee for ILR

Hi Amber, I actually have a very similar situation and was going to make a new post but figure I would add to this one. I also have some spent convictions and wanted to know if you or other posters think I should use a solicitor for help. It's embarrasing and shameful to admit, but I have 3 DWI conv...
