Does that mean the standard fee for a renewal of biometric card for EU citizen is 138 pounds?

Re: Renewing Biometric card

Oh applying is easy, but I'm hesitating paying the 138 pounds because I can't quite believe they're asking all EU citizens for that amount. Is that correct amount that eu citizens have to pay to renew a biometric card?

Renewing Biometric card

Hi there I'm getting very confused about how to do this? My wife had a biometric residence card as family member of an eu citizen. After brexit she applied for first pre settled status and then settled status which she got but no new biometric card was issued and now her old one has expired. We've b...

Re: So Confused Brexit citizenship/ILR spouse of British hus

Sorry I think I've been confusing everyone and myself. Just to clarify then, last year my wife filled out an EEA FM application in the uk and in due course received a uk residence card. What I think everyone is saying is that this residence card isn't permanent residence, and so being legally reside...

Re: So Confused Brexit citizenship/ILR spouse of British hus

Hi Casa thanks very much for your reply. I'm not really clear on the 5 years residency. Initially this was my thought but I did some googling before posting the message and I cam across this webpage at gov.uk https://www.gov.uk/becoming-a-british-citizen/if-your-spouse-is-a-british-citizen On this p...

So Confused Brexit citizenship/ILR spouse of British husband

Hi there, could anyone please straighten a few things out for me? After the Brexit result my head has been swimming with the dire possibilities of what may/may not happen regarding my family. My situation is, I'm British and my wife is of Chinese nationality who has EEA permanent resident card based...

Please answer -SS Family Permit and Income

Hello Guys, I'd be really grateful if you could answer a question regarding income. This relates to me a British citizen bringing my non-eu wife on a family permit. All along I've been thinking that I had a good chance in my application until today. I read somewhere that there will be an expectation...

How Quickly After decision is residency card issued?

How quickly is the residency card issued after the decision? I remember when we received the decision to issue the temporary card. I had to book time off work to go with my wife and then she had to have fingerprint/photographs done after which we were told we had to wait 3 week so the card can be pr...

Re: EU4FAM (people who applied recently)

Just an update -- posted some documents earlier in the week, and I had a letter confirming receipt on Friday. It specifically stated that a decision would be made based on the documents on file one day prior to the full decision date. So if you made an application on the 20th November you really sho...

Re: Urgent - Surinder Singh Route

I know this sounds drastic but you might want to consider somewhere less expensive to live, like Cork. I intended to live in Dublin myself but house prices were ridiculous.

I feel for you, I expierenced similar refusals when I told landlords I didn't have a job. Hope all goes well.

A lot of people expierenced similar. Just make sure you send by recorded or if not get confirmation that they've received them. There's nothing to worry about.

Re: visiting N.ireland or UK with Temp stamp4?

In practice it might be easy to visit the north, but very risky if you're challenged especially if non EU spouse doeant have the exit entry visa in passport (sorry forget what it's called but temp card holder's can request it be added to passport). Worst case scenario UK authorities may deport spous...

Re: GOOD NEWS FOR STAMP 4EUFAM.

I'd love to know where you got your information alphagear. According to the EU rights clinic blog http://blogs.kent.ac.uk/eu-rights-clinic/, it makes clear that the uk government still considers it necessary for the uk citizen to prove "centre of life" and goes on to say: "As a result...

Re: EU4FAM (people who applied recently)

Yes, relax and have a little patience. My wife applied at the end of November so it's only 1 or 2 weeks before the 6 months are up, still haven't heard anything yet. I remember waiting for the temp residence card, for some reason we expected it would be quicker than the 8 weeks it actually took. It ...

Re: GOOD NEWS FOR STAMP 4EUFAM.

As far as my understanding goes, it doesn't apply to non-eu family members of uk citizens living and working in Ireland. They still need a family permit

Re: UK Government to Recognise Family Member Residence Cards

Actually, I'm a bit sceptical about this. It was only reported on a few blogs. Don't you think such a significant change would be picked up by major news outlets as we head into the election? Even if it's coming about , it may just grant short term visiting rights. Residency applications will still ...

Help with the EEA Family Permit

Hi folks, Is there a downloadable version of the online application form anywhere? I've seen the vaf5.pdf dated 2013 and I'm unsure if that's the same or different. I really want to prepare myself for filling out the form. Also does the online forms have such questions as how much savings, stocks an...

EEA Family Permit Earnings/Savings

Hi guys, I've recently seen refusals for permits based on earnings being insufficient. Can someone please tell me how much is not enough? To be plain i'm talking about those doing the Surrinder Singh route. I've never seen any figure that acts as a threshold anywhere. Now, it was my understanding th...

Re: EU1 - 6 weeks & waiting for ack

Judging from my own experience. Don't bother writing a letter to get your passports back. Try an email. Make sure to include enough information so they can find your application easily and tell them you've already submitted a request for a return of passport. I wrote on thursday and got a reply on F...

Re: EU1 - 6 weeks & waiting for ack

Hi there everyone, finally got our letter and docs back. Took 8 weeks and 1 day. Just a heads up my wife wrote a letter three weeks ago and never got any response. She sent an email asking for her passport back so she could travel. By that time the docs were already in the post. We had a reply for s...

Re: EU1 - 6 weeks & waiting for ack

Congratulations everyone who's received a response. Still waiting for mine. Webbyms explanation of why some people got there's seems spot on. I've done admin jobs like that before and that's the way it worked. Bit surprised that the docs are coming back as regular post. Would have gladly sent a post...

Re: EU1 - 6 weeks & waiting for ack

Actually don't mind about application taking time. Its the absence of the passports and lack of any response that bothers me.

Talked to someone who suggested the only way to get any response is to go to inis headquarters in person

Nothing here either. No response to the letter I wrote two weeks ago.

You've been waiting 8 weeks surely you should get a response any day now

Re: EU1 - 6 weeks & waiting for ack

Hi there, I'm in the same boat as you. Posted the application with passports and relevant docs on the 25th of November. Haven't received so much as an acknowledgement. I know the website says there's a wait of 4 weeks before they send everything back, but it's very frustrating and more than a little...
