Re: ILR dependant - set O or set M

Is there any financial requirement for the dependant application? My wife does not work so I cannot submit any proof of her salary. I submitted their application but did not submit proof of my salary, will this affect the application? Thanks.

Re: ILR dependant - set O or set M

Thank you so much for your answer.

I've just realised that my wife has already stayed in the UK for more than 6 years under a Tier 2 dependent visa. Will this cause any issues?

Re: ILR dependant - set O or set M

Thank you so much for your clarification. When filling out the application for set O, I noticed that it requires information about my previous Skilled Worker visa (sponsor, etc.), which has now expired. Will including this expired information pose any issues? Any explanation needed such as writing a...

ILR dependant - set O or set M

Hello, My apologies if this question seems repetitive or has been addressed before. I've come across various threads with similar concerns, but given the specifics of our situation, I felt the need for a more direct advice, especially from the experts here. I'm seeking clarification on whether my wi...

Re: Selecting reference for naturalisation

Thanks Cullinan. Yes I have read that carefully but still confused when applying to my case. If using 2 British references, the two referees are colleagues (related?) so not sure if they will be valid. If using my friend's reference, she will be the 2nd referee (the 1st needs to work with the child)...

Selecting reference for naturalisation

Hi, I'm applying for my boy's naturalisation. I'm currently having 3 references, two from the boy's nursery teachers, both are British; one from my colleague, who is a research fellow and not British. Can anybody please advise me which references to use? Many thanks.

Fees for dependant extension ILR

Hi everyone, My wife and daughter have been on Tier 2 dependant visa for 4 years 9 months. They will need to extend their visa before 14 April. I'm now on ILR, which was switched in January under the 5 years Tier 2 route. Can anyone please clarify the fees for the application? Will it be the applica...

Does overstaying affect the chance to get ILR?

Hi there, I'm in Tier 2 visa and plan to apply for ILR next year. However, 6 years ago, I used to overstay 2 months (unintended) which led to 1 year ban of applying for visa (after that ban I reapplied Tier 2 and got back to the UK btw). Does that overstaying affect the chance to get ILR? I heard th...

Visitors to stay 4-5 months for helping with new born baby?

Hi, I'm planning for my parents to visit to the UK next few months (standard visitor visa). We have a 4 months new born baby so wish they can stay for about 4-5 months to help us. However, when my parents contacted a visa agency in my country, they advised to ask for only 2 months stay. It seems tha...

Re: Is this possible to reuse translated certificates from previous application

Many thanks guys.

I am now filling the form and realise that the birth certificate and marriage certificate are not in the mandatory document list for the application. Could anyone please confirm whether those certificates are needed?

Is this possible to reuse translated certificates from previous application

I am going to extend my Tier 2 visa at the same time with my wife and child. I have with me the translated marriage and birth certificates which I used last year for my wife and child Tier 2 dependent (oversea) application. Those certificates were translated by translating service from my home count...

Visitor visa refused - unclear source of fund

Hi all, I am in the UK under tier 2 visa, which is valid til September next year. My wife and my child are on dependent visa and living with me. Recently, my parents applied for visiting the UK for 3 months. Their applications were rejected, with the following quote coming from my father's refusal l...

Re: A fine for breaking UK immigration law?

A fine for breaking UK immigration law?

Hi all, I am extending my Tier 2 visa in the UK. When completing the form, this question make me confused "Do you have any of the following, in the UK: ... A fine for breaking UK immigration law (called a 'civil penalty')". For my case, I was overstayed 2 months in the UK before, and was b...

Re: Un-Restrited Cos Allocation

Can somebody please confirm: Is the unrestricted CoS applied for people who are already in Tier 2 and now apply for same job with different sponsor? In such case, HO's application processing will start from the time of applying or still need to be after 5th of each month? Does HO care about the expi...

Settle requirements under Tier 2

Happy New Year All. Please correct me if I am wrong, as far as I understand, the Tier 2 applicant can only apply ILR after 5 years of work and their salary should pass a minimum threshold (£35000?). Regrading that, I have few questions that I am not clear. 1. Does the salary should pass that thresho...

Re: Bad history of application

I think I'm a returning UK resident because I lived in the UK 6 years (student visa), and I have not been away for more than 2 years. I do not have ILR, if I have, probably I do not need to apply a visa hence do not need to consider TB test anyway. I understand "returning UK resident" as s...

Re: Bad history of application

I have my result today. It is a refusal and the reason is that I did not submit my TB test when I intended to stay in the UK for more than 6 months (my start date and end date show exactly 6 months). However, I lived in the UK from 2007 to 2014, I have left the UK since Feb 2014, I am only away for ...

Re: Bad history of application

Thanks for the answer. I have read 320(7B) and see my case fall into (7B)(i). I overstayed for about 2 months and left because of family issue. I also don't think I had an illegal entrant because when I came there, my biocard was still "valid" (I wasnt aware of the curtailment). My enter w...

Bad history of application

Finally after many times applying, I got a 6-months job offer (applying outside the UK, research assistant, £30k annual salary). However, my visa application history is not that good. I unintentionally overstayed 2 months in 2014, which results in a year banning for visa applying (ended Feb 2015). I...
