Home Office will not disclose anything over phone or email about the decision. They are very formal and will let you know everything on writing. Education points are only for Degree Certificates awarded.
CCIE/CCNP is only certification course specific to Cisco. Doesnot carry any value in eyes of Goverment/HO.
It may help you only in negotiating some more bucks.

One Year starts from your date of Entry in UK. Not from the date of Visa so do not worry above 1 month deficit. As of now there is no indication of making 5 years.
