Re: Adult caution

I remember a thread ages ago where someone was advised that it wouldn't impact their citizenship application. But you should definitely mention it on the application - Irish authorities generally don't like people withholding information.

Then by far the least painful option is for him to find a job in Ireland with a company that would sponsor him, and then for you guys to move together.

Erm, it's a Critical Skills Work Permit. There aren't any "types".

Re: Applying for Long stay visa

I sincerely doubt you'd be qualified - join family visas are primarily for spouses, children, and, in special circumstances, parents.

Your best bet is checking with your local Irish embassy.

Re: Critical Work Permit and Short or Long Stay Visa Application

Heya!

Both you and your family should apply for Long Stay (D-type) visas.

Cheers! :)

Join Spouse wait times for Critical Skills permit holders?

After being away from living in Ireland for 2 years, I'm now being sponsored for a Critical Skills work permit again. My question is - does anyone now what are generally the waiting times these days for Join Spouse visas to be approved to Critical Skills permit holders? (The first time we were apply...

Re: Re-registering with GNIB if leaving Ireland a month late

That makes sense, thanks! I assume the company will give me a letter (if they do, at all) that states I'm finishing up my employment on February 24th. Is it reasonable to assume that the GNIB will register me only for until that time, or will they give me a little while longer? (Just need to know th...

Re-registering with GNIB if leaving Ireland a month later?

My GNIB Stamp 1 expires on January 23rd. I've put a notice in with my current employer, and will be working there until February 24th. My intention is to leave Ireland a few days later. Do I really need to re-register with the GNIB for just one month? Are there any checks at airports when I'm leavin...

Work permit and visa for Portugal?

I'm a non-EU national, currently residing on a Critical Skills work permit in Ireland, together with my spouse (also non-EU). A company in Portugal (I'm in IT) is going to make me an offer this week, to relocate there. They are willing to sponsor me for a work permit. I'd just like to check on the p...

Re: Stamp 4 related

You mean, your current company knows about this? Did you tell them? Do you feel the manager might use this against you?

I'd chill out about it, and then find another job. But not say anything this time.

Re: Stamp 4 related

I wouldn't be worried. The onus is on the GNIB officer to check that all your documents are OK, and that your application is valid. By re-registering you for a Stamp 4, they have affirmed you have fulfilled all the conditions. Just forget about it and move on! :)

I don't know about Kildare, but I registered in Cork City, and they told me to come back in two weeks. So, I'd imagine it's like that everywhere.

I think your husband can apply for Stamp 4 EUFAM. Try searching around on the website, or look at www.citizensinformation.ie as they have a lot of useful information.

What will change from 2018?

Hey everyone, In an older thread that I started around Green Card/Critical Skills employment permits, one of the members said that, starting in 2018, holders of these kinds of permits should have an easier time, immigration-wise. Can anyone maybe elaborate a little on this? I Googled the new immigra...

Re: Query - Critical Skills Permit

I think, for the Stamp 4, the counter starts from the date on your stamp in your passport.

But, with the new rules, still you'll have to apply with the DJIE about six weeks before the work permit itself expires.

Re: Query - Critical Skills Permit

If you decide to change jobs after a year (and that is a year of reckonable residence, as proved by the GNIB stamp in your passport), the new employer would have to sponsor you for a new work permit (which either he can pay for, or you can). If you do this, it would also "reset the clock" ...

Can my wife sell her art (paintings) on a Stamp 3?

My wife does a fair bit of painting, and would like to try and sell some of her art (for cash) at one of the many markets here in the south of the country. She is on a Stamp 3, and I'm on a Stamp 1.

Would this be legal for her to do, both from a Revenue and Immigration point of view?

Thanks!

Yes, you have to apply online. I emailed all the papers from here to the consulate (but, it is a small consulate). They still had to go in person and give their papers and signed application forms, and a photo.

Re: Family reunificatio

I recently applied for my wife's parents to visit me. Well, they applied in the consulate back home, I just sent them all the papers. What I had to provide from Ireland: 1) Letter from my employer (I'm here on a Stamp 1, my wife is on a Stamp 3); 2) My bank statement going back three months/salaries...

I'd register in the first week, or something soon like that. Residency in Ireland (for purposes of citizenship by naturalization later on) is calculated on the basis of GNIB registration stamps.

Re: Join Irish Spouse

It also depends on what kind of work permit your spouse has. If it's a Critical Skills (formerly Green Card) permit, they advertise to approve Join Spouse visas within 6 months. Realistic wait time has recently been 3-4 months. If it's a regular work permit, they advertise to process them within 12 ...

Re: Join Spouse

Great news, congratulations!

Make sure you bring a copy of your marriage certificate with you (either translated to English, or on an international form that has English), you'll need it when registering with the GNIB.
