Certificate of No Impediment

Hi all, I am a Malaysian citizen with Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) in the UK. I'm planning on getting married to my spanish fiance in Spain and need a certificate of no impediment. We will have the wedding in Spain but live in the UK. Does anyone know if I can apply for the certificate of no imp...

Dual Nationality - returning to the UK on foreign passport?

Hi All I've been searching the posts here for answer, and still haven't been able to work it out yet. Hopefully someone can help. I am considering applying for naturalisation (I have ILR, and have confirmed my eligibility) however my other nationality is one that does not permit dual nationality. My...

HSMP to ILR

I've been reading on the forum and from my understanding one of the key requirements to getting ILR from the HSMP is evidence of continued economic activity - especially at the time of the application. If I am studying part time and working part time or if I am employed on a temporary basis (temp wo...

Sorry for being a pain here, but would it make a difference if I remained in part-time employment, and took up a full-time course at the same time? The course load is such that I have most of the week free anways.

Thanks for all the advise.

Would there be an issue if I studied and worked at the same time. I would then want to apply for ILR in January 2007 (based on 4 years of work), which is 3-4 months into the course, which would then mean I'm not bound by an employment visa. My concern for applying for a student visa is the requireme...

Studying whilst on HSMP

Hi All I'm considering taking up a full time MSc next September (2006), and was wondering if I there are any restrictions on doing so. I'm currently on a work permit (3 years now and I should get my ILR in January 2007) and was hoping to go onto the HSMP in order not to lose my eligibilty to apply f...

Hi John

Oops, sorry. My passport was stamped in February 2003 ( it was submitted to the home office in November 02, and I only got it back in February 03!)

ILR - Query regarding my qualifying period.

Hi I've had a look through the threads, but haven't been able to find something to answer my question. Apologies if this question is repetitive. I started work with my company in Aug 2002 (on a student visa on an internship as I completed my Masters). The company then applied for a work permit in No...
