Re: I didn't write my name n DOB. Please help

TheMouseReturns wrote:I believe name & dob on back of photo is in case the photo becomes separate from the application. Presumably you glued the photo onto the form?
This is correct. It's not the same as, for example, the passport application photo which somebody else signs to verify your identity.

This.

You may as well be asking how long forum members sit waiting in traffic, it completely depends on the individual and their circumstances.

Re: July 2015 Naturalization Application TIMELINE ONLY

They can only return your original documents and passport in a prepaid envelope. As they said, certificates are issued by a separate department and they have their own mail process. General correspondence is an automated batch mail system, the case workers don't print out and mail the letters themse...

Re: Documents required for Naturalisation. Confused

You don't need to prove your treaty rights if you have your confirmation of PR card as far as I understand. You've already proved that with the PR card, take this with. You do still have to prove that you weren't out of the country more than 90 days, that you were in the country 5 years ago the day ...

Re: Naturalisation refused on the basis a deception

I wouldn't say impossible, but unusual. There was a guy asking about it in the ILR forum. Basically the company paid his PAYE as if his income was higher. HO discovered the scam and asked for more proof, ie bank statements which obviously didn't match the claimed income. Wow, yes, that would be pos...

Did you have to go to court? Were you sentenced in court?

You can file a Subject Access Report with the police or with the courts to find any details they have on you.

Re: Help- Unsuccessful application - good character

Such a simple thing, did you not read the form or the booklet? Note : We will carry out criminal record checks on all applicants. You must give details of all criminal convictions . This includes road traffic offences (including all drink driving offences). or 3.1-3.2 You must give details o...

Hi, To the best of my understanding you've a 100 % chance to win as the rule came after you've applied for your Naturalization. Good luck with your BC application. Keep us updated on the forum. That's not how it works, 2018 is when you need to apply. Straight from the horse's mouth : Annex D: the g...

No, I think you're OK if it wasn't a caution. Usually for traffic offences they only want the counterpart if has something on it and it was in the last 12 months, so you probably don't have to worry about it.

Re: Police caution

caution is not a conviction. You have nothing to worry about - that said, it would of been better if you had included that in additional info but just because you havent, you wont be refused.. breathe and live normally! Wrong advice. For naturalisation you must declare all cautions and convictions....

Re: Naturalisation refused on the basis a deception

This is possible. For example if you deliberately inflate your income to meet your visa requirements, and then adjust downwards to get your tax back. To do this you have to file at least two tax returns with HMRC - your original then the amended. HMRC won't readily accept an amended return - one th...

Re: Naturalisation refused on the basis a deception

This is possible. For example if you deliberately inflate your income to meet your visa requirements, and then adjust downwards to get your tax back. Why would they claim deception for naturalisation but not revoke ILR? Possibly because for naturalisation you have no recourse except a reconsideratio...

Re: Refused British Citizenship due to being in the UK Illeg

Unfortunately, these changes will prevent almost all refugees from qualifying for British citizenship for at least 10 years from their date of entry, as opposed to six years at present. This is arguably contrary to Article 31 of the Refugee Convention and certainly contrary to Article 34. So you wi...

There was a widely reported case concerning a Botswana national who was refused due to the good character requirement (court speeding offence). He eventually won his judicial review , but only for a re-consideration. For the reasons I have set out above, I have concluded that the decision-making pro...

Re: Naturalisation application refused

There is no Judicial Review option for Citizenship refusals. There is only an option to ask for reconsideration which costs £80. This can't be right. All decisions by civil servants can be subject to review, that's the point. Google turns up a number of results, including this one from 2012 , which...

Re: No Given Names on British Passport

Seems correct, see the Single Names section On a passport, a single name will be shown in the surname field, with XXX (i.e. three X's) shown in the forename field. They may also include an official observation explaining the situation. "Rajesh Kumar" is treated as a single name and goes i...

Re: Special circumstances?

The booklet seems to indicate that you have up to 900 days in the last 5 years. (for being resident for more than 8 years), this would be by discretion. You might have to wait a few months to get absences in the last 12 months below 100 days. Of course this just means they won't outright refuse your...

There is no confirmation. They tell people whatever they want to hear to get them to hang up, which makes their call centre statistics look good.

If they can't update your address they will contact you.

Re: First Tax Return for Self Employed

You just write on the form that self employment started in May 2014 and your first tax return is only due 31 January 2016. That's what I did and it's fine. From what I remember the HMRC won't give you a self assessment until after you've paid your first tax and after the 31 January for first year fi...

I had something similar and the NCS worker just filled it in for me. From the rules 6.3.7.9 , the professional referee can add "details available on request". Also: If it is clear from any information we may have that a referee does not meet one or more of the criteria in paragraph 6.3.7, ...
