British Citizenship Application: between jobs appointment

Hi All, My wife and I have held our ILR (through 5Y Tier1) for 12 month now (9 April 2016 issued date) and have booked a appointment for 11 April 2017 through NCS to apply for british citizenship and passport at the same time. There is one thing I'm not sure though. My current job (that I have resig...

Re: Successful PEO/PSC ILR applications

Hi All, Finally the wait is over and I got my ILR today. Here is my story in case it's useful to anyone. (although pretty standard). - Category: Tier1 General - Center: Cardiff - Dependants: 1 - Total cost: 3800 -- they DID NOT ask me to pay the difference in fees that was in place after 18th of Mar...

Re: ILR through Tier 1 General 5 years continuous residence

You will be eligible to apply from 07/04/2016 as you mentioned. You can apply ILR between that dates. Check rest of other requirements as well. All the very best. Thanks for your reply! One little question. on the instructions everywhere they mention that I should count only whole days and I'm writ...

5 year continuous: Unpaid leave while in the UK

Hi Everyone, I'm applying for ILR via Tier1 General next month and had a question from you all. Last year around Jan-Feb time I had 2.5 days unpaid leave but I was employed and in the UK on those days. These unpaid leaves also show up on my payslips but I'm not providing those payslips as part of ap...

Premium Service appoints for April 2016

Hi All, The old website for booking appointments for Premium Service is out of service since last Friday (27 Feb) and apparently all bookings need to be made via the new .gov.uk website. On the new website it indicates that slots become available 28 days before the date (compared to the 42 on the ol...

Re: Tier1 to ILR concerns

Point is if there is any such gap. you don't have to show you on job that time then. and in that case leaves wont matter. Yes, that's the reasonable conclusion, but we have always seen rules are not the most comprehensive part of the world :D It is however re-assuring that, I called UKVI (in fact U...

Re: Tier1 to ILR concerns

As far as i know u need to show last 12 months of salary or profit to claim points. What's the point to worry about the earlier period? But it's not about the "points" here, it's about the continuity of five year period. (which may be considered broken if you have been outside of country ...

Re: Tier1 to ILR concerns

i don't think even unpaid absence will be problem, and i also have (not 1 but 2) unpaid absences before rule got changed in Dec 2012. I advice everyone to go through continuous period guidelines here: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/275188/ILRcont_periods.p...

Re: Tier1 to ILR concerns

The break between jobs won't be a problem, as long as you're over the earnings limit. The rules say that earnings can be from more than one source, and you don't have to be continuously employed. Your unpaid absence *might* be a problem, because strictly the rules say that any absence has to be doc...

Tier1 to ILR concerns

Hi, I will be eligible for ILR in May 2016 but had some questions that answer to them is critical to my eligibility. Would really appreciate any help: 1. If I have 10 days of gap between my jobs (unemployed), is it going to be an issue? -- note that I already have my next job and this is solely to h...
