I did'nt fully understand your question, but your ILR count starts from the day you have entered the country. (Infact on the application form, it will ask you to specify the date from which the ILR count to begin , ie., the date you have first entered the country on the visa that you are applying fo...

How Long can u b out of work on HSMP (for ILR)

Due to the current economic downturn one or more of the HSMP holders might be out of work from short to long durations. Now my question, is there a requirement on how long one can be out of work on a HSMP visa, when they eventually qualify for ILR. As I understand when one applies for ILR, you are r...

I dont like to sound like this, but I guess you are slowly entering into a deep mess. If you are in UK on a HSMP, you are supposed to pay taxes just like a normal resident of UK. However, if you were sent on a work-permit from yout TCS, they can work out a different way of paying taxes in UK ( or in...

ILR for partner + living together proof ?

As per the various guidelines available, when you apply for ILR for your partner, one of the requirements is, to have been living together for atleast 2 years.

Now, what kind of documents are they seeking to prove that point. None of my tenancy agreements have my partner's name on it.

Usually what they require is mentioned in the guidance document of the application form. I would try and stick to that.

Well a very lucky few get the approvals with in a week's time and the very unlucky few get the approval after 20 weeks. So unfortunately, for what ever reason your application has fallen into that category. Since you say, you called them up several times and you know the current status, so I am afra...

I agree that there can be a gap from the time the hsmp was approved and the time you enter the country. My question not exactly about the time spent outside UK during the 5 yr period, instead it is the break(s) in employment during the 5 yr period while in UK all the time. What exactly "being e...

ILR + breaks in employment could lead to refusal?

in the BIA website I have notice the following point as the eligibility criteria for ILR. "have been employed, self-employed or a combination of the two throughout the five years" Does this mean there can't be any breaks in employment in the last 5 years. What if someone was contracting an...

Can HSMP visa holders work in Dublin

Hi all,

Was just wondering if HSMP visa holders can work in Dublin? To the best of my knowledge Dublin does not belong to Northen Ireland, however some agencies seem to say that HSMP holders can work in Dublin.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!!

Dont assume anything.

Apply for NARIC and they will tell you what your degree means. That would be final and reliable information.

I dont see any problems in getting your EC yet ,as you have not over-statyed. I know it is very hard to leave a country and go back, but the longer you stay, the more you are risking of over staying. If I were you, I would leave as soon as humanly possible for me. ( Not only to get away from the mes...

Hi British, It appears that you caught up with the 28 day fact. Here's what the original poster has mentioned 10. On 16th Feb, the FLR team sent a rejection letter. The reasons for rejection (a) HSMP failure (b) My visa expired on 31st Dec 2006 and my application was submitted on 29th Jan 2007 and h...

True, but I am not sure if you can switch from HSMP dependent to HSMP while in the country. I am not saying no, but just make sure if the switching is possible in-country.

Ok, here's is best solution for you (from my perspective). Leave the country on the next available flight. And then think of coming back on a different visa. It is purely a waste of time to sort this out while you are here and I dont see any grounds on which you can do anything further on any of you...

Hi minny, I had a chance to look into my reference number today as my leave to remain expires tomorrow. Even it has 10 digits on it (just like yours), so I believe 10 digits are for FLR where as the 6 digits are for (initial approvals). The reference letter is dated exactly one week after I made the...

It may be a good idea to see what's exactly is written on your rejection letter. With out seeing that, it might be too early to jump to conclusions (i know that you have spoken to case worker) but the letter would give more insight.
