In a scenario like this, if they deny based on one thing and you can provide that one thing quickly... do you have to "RE-apply" and pay the fee again? Or can you just send it in and appeal the decision?

Will Immigration Sign for my Package?

This may be a stupid question, but upon receipt of my package via courier, will they sign for it? I want to be able to put some kind of security on it considering the originals contained within...

Need notarized copy of passport?

I'm providing my original birth certificate as proof of my age qualifications. I was thoroughly reading the HSMP application and it stated that I should also include a "notarised copy of the personal details page of your passport." Is this STILL a requirement even through I'm providing the...

EC and owning property in home country?

There's nothing really saying that this will KEEP you from getting EC... but it does expressly state that you must intend to make the UK your primary residence. If we keep the condo we own in Canada, does that contradict that requirement? Has anyone out there experienced something silimar? And if it...

"Original Academic Reference"

I'm filling out the HSMP form and have only gotten as far as the academic section and already have a question! The form requires you to check boxes to state that you have included: 1. Original academic certificate (have it) 2. Original academic certificate (also have it) 3. Original academic referen...

Re: Ready to Apply! Documents Complete?

what is a Bachelor of Commerce? Are you confident that this translates directly as a degree that is equivalent to a UK degree? Bachelor of Commerce is a standard business degree... I just looked it up online to make sure that it isn't just Canada-specific and it does state that it is a common degre...

Ready to Apply! Documents Complete?

I would REALLY appreciate your 2 cents on my application. I have all of the pieces together (just waiting on a letter from the university) and want to make sure there aren't any glaring holes that I've missed... Wouldn't want to make a £400 mistake! I have prepped a cover letter to introduce the fo...

Ok, I guess I know what I have to do. :)
Just thought I'd get some external opinions in case someone else had used something similar in an application.

Thanks!

"Leeway" on the English as Lang of Instruction?

I'm helping my husband organize the materials for his application and JUST now saw that the letter he received from the University ONLY states this: "To whom it may concern This is to certify that: English is the language of instruction and examination at the University of Saskatchewan." I...

Ok, so this info is all new to me... I just want to clarify.... You can claim up to 12 months of previous salary to meet the earnings criteria, and those 12 months must be continuous and within the past 15 months of the application date? If that's true, Phew! I thought I would have to get my employe...

Earnings - Signed letter vs. original stubs?

I have a question about proof of earnings... I have my tax return (no problem there) and went to my HR dept for signed copies of my pay stubs, but they instead gave me a letter that outlines, month by month, my earnings from them. It is stamped and signed. Will this be sufficient? Or do I HAVE to ha...

Ok...

Yes, I'm not proud of the "sneakiness"... I'm normally a person that won't even cross the street without the walklight on. I didn't know how to argue that my bosses SHOULD pay, so I felt I had no choice but to go with it... All "excuses" aside... I suppose you are right... it's s...

Do I list previous UK work experience? (Possibly sensitive)

Tough situation here... I went to the UK on a Working Holiday Maker visa in 2000. I found a good position in London where I was hired as a "Call Centre" person but actually did a lot of Marketing coordination. However, when I was hired they did it under the table and didn't process taxes a...

Excuses to get employer to give Experience Letter?

I can't imagine that I'm in the ONLY person who is experiencing this and while I don't like to use the word "deceive", I need to know how to get my Letter of Reference from my employer without him knowing WHY I need it... I worry that I might put myself in a precarious situation at work if...

Need help with acronyms!

I've been trying to learn everything I can about this process to make my application go smoothly... but I'm having a hard time understanding some of the acronyms used on this site...

What is EC?
FLR?
ILR?

I tried digging through the site to get the answers, but they aren't easy to find! Thanks!
