I think I've figured it out after looking at the application form again. If you currently have biometrics, you must submit them. If you dont, you will be asked to submit them in a letter form the Home Office. For the application to be valid and complete, the applicant must provide his/her original c...

Confused about biometric residence permit and extension

Im currently reading the Tier 1 (General) application form, trying to prepare for an in-country extension. Im looking at the section on Biometric Residence Permits and Im finding it very confusing. I have read the forum threads and UKBA documentation and I am sure that I do need to apply for a BRP, ...

When will we get details from UKBA?

So it is now 2011. We all know Tier 1 (General) is closed to new applicants from outside the UK. When do you think we will see the detailed arrangements for extensions and settlement for existing Tier 1 (General) holders? Im talking guidance notes and perhaps even application forms. Do you think we ...

That is the wrong link.

Tier 1 (General) from outside the UK is now closed in its current form.

So essentially any new applications or extensions (in country) require an extra step where biometric information is submitted? I dont see this under the summary of changes document for tier 1.

In light of the news from the lawyers and the letter sent to Damian Green, I dont think we need to petition yet. I think we should wait for more information rather than attempt to make an amateurish petition. The Number 10 e-petition site has been shutdown and we are unable/unwilling to organise our...

I think gordon has a very good point, but at this moment I dont know how we can raise this issue with our employers and then get them to take it up with the PM. This would require a big appeal from businesses and would require a big campaign. For now the only thing I can think of is for us to raise...

I think we can turn the blue petition into a Word document with space for signatures, names and addresses. Then we can print out hardcopies ourselves and get signatures from people we know. We then collect these petitions centrally and send the whole lot with a covering letter to Number 10. I can cr...

Im not finding any great alternatives unfortunately.
http://www.petition.co.uk/

That website will allow us to run the petition, and then we can print off the signatures and submit in hard copy to the Government? No guarantee on 500 signatures or any sort of reply though.

We can discuss all the sentimental, emotionally charged stuff on the Facebook page and this forum. A petition needs to be clear and professional, especially if the press gets involved. I agree with push and MJNair. I think we should go with the blue version and change it to be addressed to the PM. The blue version is a more professional petition and has a clear and formal style.

I agree with you MJNair. I prefer the blue version quoted below and it is ready to be sent to Number 10 in my opinion. However, it seems that the owners of the Facebook group prefer the red version. I've helped tidy up the red version, and it is slowly taking shape. I prefer this version. Credit for...
