Re: Applying for British Passport online

Hello. Just a couple of questions. Referee who signs the passport form, is professional and British but he doesn't have British Passport as he never needed one. Does the referee defo needs to have British passport or can he leave the passport number box blank ? Second question is do I need to send ...

Re: British Passport application processing timelines (only)

My application was handled very quickly. I filled and mailed the form myself since I read the trouble others had applying online and the unknowledgeable check and send staff. Just follow the instructions on the application form. Got the interview letter about a week after. The interview was as expec...

Re: Passport application - ILR Card needed?

After reading so many posts about the misguided info by the Post office staff... I'm definitely going to apply without check and send and save £10 for curry dinner.

Re: British Passport application processing timelines (only)

Guys, I am furious. I asked them to send back my passport and the nat.certificate with DX secure however they did not take the money for it I was just slightly worried as I thought they would deduct it later. Today we received the post and they sent it back Royal Mail second class. I am furious. Ha...

Re: British Passport application processing timelines (only)

I've read through many pages of comments but I'll like to get an idea as what what is now considered the best way to apply for a British passport in 2015? Is sending direct the best way assuming you can follow the application instructions well? 1) Direct - Not many people send direct...is it because...

Re: British Passport application processing timelines (only)

I did reread it a few times already and its not getting any clearer. From my understanding, when one person renews a passport, their previous expired passports would have their corners cut off. That's is why all my expired passports are deemed cancelled already. And so I only have one current passp...

Re: British Passport application processing timelines (only)

If you are naturalised, I thought I read somewhere that HO also wants to see the passport I first entered UK with? But when reading the guide and form, it only says they want the uncancelled passport which is just my current passport that doesn't have my 1st UK entry stamp? A cancelled and an expir...

Re: Naturalisation application processing timelines (only)

I have been wondering why the HO wouldn't add a couple of pounds to the fees and use First Class postage instead of the painfully slow Second Class. It's quite important to us and I'm sure everyone would be very happy to pay the extra £2 or so rather than waiting for an extra week for the yellow en...

Re: Naturalisation application processing timelines (only)

Its quite ironic that those that are helping others by posting their timelines are being called trolls by certain individuals. It has even resulted in one of poster feeling the need to post his personal info to proof himself. I'm sure many others that posted their timelines recently can also supply...

Re: Naturalisation application processing timelines (only)

Re: Naturalisation application processing timelines (only)

Thanks bromleysouthbs. My country of origin allows dual citizenship and my passport remains valid. My query is about coming back to the UK. I normally enter the UK with my passport and show my permanent resident card. Can I still do that and apply for a British passport then or does the Home Office...

Re: Naturalisation application processing timelines (only)

Sorry to read that some of you have applied since 2014 and have yet to receive any news. For info, I satisfy all their criteria and have nothing in the application that they need to check so it was a quick approval. Good luck to the rest of you. Application Timeline Eligibility criteria: 10 years Nu...
