Re: Proof of residence in UK for citizenship

Hi, Am sorry for the trouble you are having. Is it possible for you to print the guidance which cs95tdg linked upthread as it clearly states that evidence of residence is a passport or travel documents. That's the home office own guidance. Also, the further proof of residence is only required when a...

Re: AN/MN1 application form query.

Question 1: should be exactly as it asks, the date when you first entered UK and the place where you first arrived at for e.g. I arrived at Gatwick Airport, so that's what I put down on my form.

I hope that's correct!

Edit; question 2, I can't answer so hopefully someone else can shortly.

Re: Proof of residence in UK for citizenship

@cs95tdg, I have just looked at the letter and it says to provide passport or travel documents, in absence of which to provide alternative evidence of residence.

I agree with you that the OP ought to take a print out of the guidance and show it to the NCS staff or try a different NCS.

Re: Proof of residence in UK for citizenship

Thanks for that explanation, it cleared up that confusion. However I'm not entirely sure I can add much to help. I have seen instances on this forum where additional proof of evidence is requested by the home office, when passports are lost. I can only guess that the HO do not accept your particula...

Re: Different address on Driving Licence for Naturalisation

Also, just a quick point to mention is to change your address for your insurance as your insurance will become void if your address on your driving licence doesn't match with them. In the event of an accident, the insurance company will decline your claim. Furthermore, if the address where you are c...

Re: HMRC penalties

Is that a fine for failing to declare goods in excess of your allowance when stopped before clearing customs controls?. It comes under civil penalties as you mentioned. If the ILR form states that civil penalties needs to be declared, then I assume you will have to. Someone else can comment further....

Re: HMRC penalties

Hello all, I shall be eligible to apply for ILR in a few months. I've received a civil evasion penalty of £227 for failing to declare dutiable goods. I've spoken to the caseworker at HMRC and explained it was a mistake on my behalf, but she insisted that since it was my mistake I deserve to be fine...

Hi, You can download the last 5 quarters by logging into HMRC VAT services using your gateway id and password. Look for submitted returns. Those would be the official VAT returns which you submitted. For 2011/2012 - when you incurred a loss, assumingly you didn't take out a dividend?. Because you can't take out a dividend if your business is making a loss right?. Maybe someone more experienced can answer your question regarding the maintaining of 35k for the whole 5 years. I think you have to be...

You can also request a SA302 through the message function from your online account. Correct me if I am wrong, but if someone submit their tax return via the HMRC software, they can actually print it off after 72 hours themselves without the need to contact HMRC to send it to them?. I have seen some applicants on this forum who have sent a SD envelope when applying through the NCS. So it looks like it's possible. However I think there's no guarantee that the HO will use it, as I saw an instance or two where the decision letter had been sent through regular second class post, e...

Hi Guys Some of you sent me PM and I am replying here for you all. If HO dont see any records in HMRC for your PAYE or self employment, Then there will be a high chance for deception. Even if it is genuine income. Contact your clients again for your all invoices if your can. No harm doing that. Req...
