Re: applying BRP/NTL during naturalisation application

Oh and when I queried the status of my NTL/BRP application, I was told that it would normally take them 4/5 weeks(!!!) from the aknowledgement date to send a letter requesting the biometrics. When I advised I had already submitted my biometrics for naturalisation, and had attached the letter and rec...

Re: applying BRP/NTL during naturalisation application

On the phone, unfortunately. HO aren't great at communicating in writing - I sent them an email asking to explain and confirm prior to finally calling, but to this date I haven't received a response. It was 2 different agents from two different departments I spoke to who both confirmed this was now ...

Re: applying BRP/NTL during naturalisation application

A somewhat belated update. Having had further conversations with my new prospective employer and the HO themselves, it turns out it absolutely IS a new requirement for employment to have your ILR stamp turned into a residence card , otherwise the company will incur fines. The fact that the person ha...

Re: applying BRP/NTL during naturalisation application

Thank you for your response. Hopefully my new company will see sense and accept my old ILR stamp. I guess I panicked as when trying to research the situation I came across an NHS Right to Work check document ( http://www.nhsemployers.org/~/media/Employers/Publications/Right%20to%20work%20checks%20Ju...

Re: applying BRP/NTL during naturalisation application

Also, I can see from this link (https://www.gov.uk/transfer-visa), that is isn't a requirement for travel, but is it a HO requirement for employment to have a BRP/NTL, or can an expired passport with ILR stamp still be accepted (in addition to the current passport)?

Re: applying BRP/NTL during naturalisation application

Sorry - I must have been clearer: I normally travel with both my current and my expired passports, as the ILr in the expired one and have never had issues with it before. Now that the company has requested me to get a BRP, and as I am not sure whether this is a strict home office requirement I wonde...

Re: Please Help - HO records hold a different name

Thank you so much.
I've never had to submit biometrics before, as they came in after I got my ILR, but perhaps you are right and they are relying on old home office records.. I'll submit my biometrics today and hope for the best..

Please Help - HO records hold a different name

Hello all, I'm in a bit of a pickle and am hoping someone can help and clear things up. I received my ILR when I was married (after my spouse visa ran out), 8 years ago. I have now submitted an application for British citizenship, however our marriage fell apart and we got divorced last year. I neve...

Naturalization form - Tax office query

Hello, does anyone know - in the 'tax office address' - which address is required? Is this for income tax? And if so, where would one find it? Also, does anyone know if the change of title on my payslips would affect my tax reference / home office decision in any way? (i.e. my new company had put me...

Referee q - missing daytime contact no

Hello, does anyone know if it will be a problem if one of my referees didn't provide daytime telephone number when he signed the form? He is a barrister and is rather busy during the day, which, I'm guessing is why he left that out, as he filled in everything else. He did provide his email. thank you

Questions around supporting docs & application - please help

Hello all, I'm really sorry if this has already been asked and clarified before, but I have a couple of questions relating to my application (and upon reading this forum a couple more came up! :/ ) - I received my ILR in 2007 after my spouse visa. However we have unfortunately since separated and di...
