that's exactly what we've been told by our solicitor, that maternity leave count as a gap, therefore the maximum gap allowed is 6 months in the whole 5 years period.

Hi Akz, I'm in a similar situation here...I was refused due to insufficient self employed doc. You definitely have a better chance of getting ur PR if u appeal....however write the caeworker for reconsideration and point out the mistake u mentioned,including the 18months maternity leave......
