The whole concept of migrant work is to go somewhere to improve your quality of life (the British empire was created through this concept), when the work dries up then the migrant worker will just go were the work is. Thus you would more then likely get a balance where poorer countries would benefit...

I would be quite happy to pay the prices if they actually did there jobs properly (if they did then there would be very little need for this forum). Maybe if the IND was privatised then they would perform better instead of sitting on there butts all day and coming up with pathetic excuses. Its a fac...

You can refer consultants to this link and point 17 gives you what you need http://www.workingintheuk.gov.uk/working_in_the_uk/en/homepage/work_permits0/work_permit_faqs.html The confusion comes because the visa in the partner does not say your partner can work, it says that there are no restriction...

root I think you have to see this as a two way street. In countries the law of that country has to be followed by the people that inhabit it, sometimes people follow the laws reluctantly (myself and many other work permit holders HSMP holders and AV visa's have been subject to a law which we feel is...

Hi Kim I am sorry to say due to the UK’s knee jerk reaction to immigration and the antiquated immigration rules they have in place, each visa is treated separately and the only time they allow for several visas to be joined together for ILR is under the 10yr rule (10yrs continues legal stay). I have...

Quite the contrary, I am only on the fringes of what has been happening, but it would seem from all the email correspondence that there is something happening on all fronts (JR and lobby). I suspect that the people organizing will soon be back on this thread with an update

This is only my own opinion, a fresh application is possible the best option, however it will require some very clever wording in your explanation of your previous refusal, you might consider explaining along the lines that there was a misunderstanding in your previous application and it is not your...

when I was looking into a change of employment, I had a very similar response. I think that you should approach your new employer and explain that the legal requirements for changing employer were left back in the "stone age". The IND (because they are civil servants) have now concept of t...

I am gathering by the tone of some posts that some people are getting quite frustrated maybe because we have not heard anything from any parties, but also maybe because your 4 year ILR is looming or you have just passed this point. I know what this feels like (8 months to go before I apply for 5 yr ...

Even if we do loose this battle the war is still not lost, we still have the ability to change things in the future. One thing that we have learnt is that although we all come from different places and cultures we are able to work together we can show tolerance towards each others cultures. We can s...

Yes voting for the BNP would be quite Ironic.......however people should start looking into supporting a party that we know will look after us. It would seem that labour has managed to alienate a huge potential voting population, we should all make it our responsibility to educate ourselves on what ...

The VBSI should also start educating its supporters on voting procedures, who knows in the future they could become quite political active thus give immigrants a more vocal voice

This sounds like a great idea, hope the VBSI group are listing to this one. We would have some hard evidence to show how we really feel about the change. As tarzan pointed out it would only take a few thousand votes for it to swing the other way for labor. We could even ask people to let us know whi...

Maybe it is about time we played there game, maybe we can remind Mr Bryne that he has only the 301st safest seat out of 643 with only a majority of 5449 http://www.theyworkforyou.com/mp/liam_byrne/birmingham%2C_hodge_hill#votingrecord , I suspect this would be our last port of call assuming we will ...
