Just 1 photo is required for naturalisation application. The applicant's name and date of birth written on the back of it.

Also don't forget the completed fee slip with the application form.

Re: Previous Addresses (Form AN) 3yr Spouse Route

Neither the form nor the guidance mention only requiring 3 years for those applying as a spouse of a BC. The application for my spouse has addresses for the last 5 years, although we moved to the UK in August 2012. The way we saw it is that if it's unnecessary then it can be ignored, or if they want...

Re: Need help - Am I British or not?

I think talk of treaty rights is a red herring in this case. The OP was born in 1993, and the EEA came into existence on 1 January 1994. But before 'EEA' there was 'EU' and Denmark's accession date (to EU) was: 1 Jan 1973 The EU came into existence via the Maastricht Treaty, which became effective ...

Re: Need help - Am I British or not?

I'm 22 years old. I'm born in the UK to a British father and a danish mother in 1993. They were NOT married. I've got a British birth certificate and National Insurance number. There is a question that should have been asked before this thread turned to a UKF application. What was the immigration s...

What's happened to mroowka, the OP user of this thread? It gets confusing when more than 1 username is used by a person, if that's the case here.

Re: Baby born to uk Dad in the phillippines

does my wife need to register the birth in the Philippines? or do i need to do it from the UK? The birth will need to be registered in the country of birth. Once that is done, it is possible to do a consular registration with the UK authorities, but this is not necessary. From what you're saying (t...

Re: 150 days absence in last year for Naturalization.

Can you tell me , what can I do to make my case stronger considering the rule in the guidance notes as below and what is the real meaning for this rule ? To make your case stronger, then absences from the UK should be within the allowable limit. A reason for this can be found in the question "...

Have you spent any time previously living in the UK? A continuous period of 3 years any time prior to when the child was born would mean it should be possible to register the child as British (by descent).

A person in a civil partnership with a BC can also meet the same criteria as a person married to a BC. So it's not always the case for an unmarried partner as you suggest.

Re: British Citizenship vs ILR for married partners

the potential is the spouse of BC rules are aligned with everyone else, and a requirement of 12 months ILR is introduced. Unlikely. That would require primary legislation (Act of Parliament) to amend the British Nationality Act 1981 and there would be substantial scrutiny in both Houses of Parliame...

Re: British Citizenship vs ILR for married partners

I wouldn't be surprised if the government updates the rules in the next 18 months or so - before the first batch of people under the post-July 2012 rules become eligible. If they do, the potential is the spouse of BC rules are aligned with everyone else, and a requirement of 12 months ILR is introdu...
