letter from employer

Hi guys, quick question: For ILR on Tier2 general, the requirement is a letter from employer regarding absences and another regarding confirmation of job & pay & employee still being needed. Is it ok if the employer provides just one letter stating both absences and job details? Or do they h...

Re: Few questions

Hi CR001, Yes I fully agree with you on the continuous period document (https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/518855/ILR-continuous-periods-v13.pdf) which states: The period between entry clearance being issued and the applicant entering the UK may be counted towa...

Re: Few questions

CR001, I believe your reply was meant for another post?
My friend is T2 general and not tied to her husband's ILR or previous visa.

I'm referencing the fact the SET O guidance does not mention entry clearance issue date, but rather only leave to remain issue date.

Re: Few questions

Thank you CR001. Very helpful as always. What do you think about what I stated in point number 1? The SET O guidance from November 2016 (SET_O_-guidance-notes-11-16.pdf) states on page 4: 5. When to apply You and any dependants applying with you should apply before the end of your/their permitted st...

Re: Few questions

Thank you for your feedback krisv! I forgot to include an important question: It seems the consensus is that the visa issue date plus 5 years minus 28 days can be used as application date. So if visa was approved on June 24 2012, but she landed on July 22 2012, then she can apply May 27 2017. Howeve...

Re: Few questions

I know I may have asked way too many questions, but it'd really help if some of them are answered.

Thanks a lot

Re: Few questions

Thank you so much for your reply. I'm sorry if I keep coming back with more questions, but this whole process is tiresome! 1- The SET O guidance from November 2016 (SET_O_-guidance-notes-11-16.pdf) states on page 4: 5. When to apply You and any dependants applying with you should apply before the en...

Few questions

Dear members, Below are a few questions I'd appreciate some feedback on (my friend has a T2G, so this is relevant to me as well): 1- The policy guidance states that the gap between entry clearance and actually landing can be counted towards the qualifying period. Her entry clearance date is June 24 ...

Re: passport stamp?

I'd appreciate some feedback. I feel like they should have stamped the passport too not just the certificate. Unless the passport stamp is only done when visa details change?
Anyone with experience changing just the address and having no passport stamp?

passport stamp?

Hello, I changed address and went to the local police station to report it. They updated my police certificate and stamped it. However they did not stamp the passport. Did they forget to do so? or is this normal? I know for a fact that the overseas visitors bureau always stamp the passport in additi...

Re: Previous employer

Thanks Frontier Mole. I had some further news. The ex-employer seems to be heading towards reducing its number of staff. Subsequently, they are not going to accept the action plan and will surrender the licence (and hence 3 employees will have to find a new employer). This also worried my friend bec...

Re: Previous employer

Two additional questions: - What happens to those still working at the B rated company, can they apply for ILR at the moment (provided the qualifying period has been met)? Or will they have to wait until company is potentially A rated again? - If the company does not get out the B rating and the lic...

Previous employer

Hello, Scenario: * Tier 2 employee switches jobs to a new sponsor. * Previous sponsor gets downgraded to B within the year that follows (reason unknown to the ex employee). In theory, what implications can this have on the employee who had already left, and on her future ILR application? As stated, ...

Out of curiosity, which other categories this rule of "28 days from visa 'issue' date" does not apply to?

Re: Earliest date

Thanks a lot :)

You know with such hefty application fees, one has to make sure he is not applying too early and risk losing thousands of pounds!

Re: Earliest date

CR001, thank you.

Just to be sure, does that mean he can apply 28 days before the date of visa issue? i.e. May 27 2017?

Re: Earliest date

Can you confirm again the above please? My friend noted that a "knowledgable" colleague of his now noted that the earliest is either: - The entry date - 28 days, or - The visa "valid from" date (i.e. the 28 days concession does not apply in this case). What do you think? Manci, F...

Earliest date

Hello, A friend of mine is asking the following question (which may also be of relevance to me at a certain point): It seems like a new rule has been introduced, whereby the gap between entry clearance date & actual landing can be counted towards ILR. The question is, would the "28 days&quo...

Re: English requirement for extension application

Thank you. Can you confirm in which cases it applies? For example: - Is NARIC certification needed for ILR applications, even if language was satisfied in an earlier application via foreign degree without NARIC or English exam? - Is NARIC required if switching to a different category besides T2? It ...

English requirement for extension application

Dear community, when applying for a T2 extension, do I need to apply for a NARIC certificate (given that the calculator has been removed) to pass the language requirement? I've proven English skills on a previous application, but not sure if this new change introduced a few days ago affects extensio...
