Re: Biometric enrolment or acknowledgement letter first?

personally don't know, I only received a letter. Some folks - like yourself - only get an email, but I do seem to recall others saying they've gotten both.

Maybe look in the various Naturalisation Timeline posts and PM some of the participants who did receive both?

Re: Biometric enrolment or acknowledgement letter first?

I received an acknowledgement letter first, then a few days later my biometric letter. That seems to be the order most receive their letters in. But if you read enough on these boards you'll get the idea there are no strong processes -- you got an email acknowledgement. I never did, nor did many oth...

Escalation to MP

Yes, I applied via NCS for Naturalisation on July 7th, received acknowledgment letter on time, unfortunately biometrics letter arrived with my middle name omitted. Post Office refused to process. So I immediately emailed nationalitybiometrics@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk however they never acknowledged, no...

Re: biometric letter not received

yes, it says you must bring photographic ID, suggests either a passport or drivers license. When I presented my passport the clerk noted the omission and refused to process, saying it would cause me problems later. I don't generally use my middle name, told her as much and said I didn't mind if just...

Re: biometric letter not received

No, just the bar-coded letter. Huh? The Post Office asked for my passport then refused to process my biometrics since the Home Office left out my middle name. It was on my AN Form, and I submitted via NCS. I'm still waiting for a replacement. Have sent two emails and one Royal Mail recorded letter.

Re: 2nd Class Postage -- why?

Yes, only problem is my lettres -- and many others on this board -- took several days to arrive. For example, my biometrics letter was dated July 15th but arrived July 28th, just about the same elapsed time as on several other threads. Cost? I'd gladly pay another £10 or £20 and it wouldn't cost Hom...

2nd Class Postage -- why?

I was curious if anyone has an idea why The Home Office seems to send most (all?) of their mail second class? Considering the deadlines they issue with the letters - e.g., 15 working days on the biometrics, for example - seems somewhat inappropriate. I'd gladly pay another ten or twenty pounds just ...

Re: Name on Biometric wrong

Hi Email sent to AppointmentExceptions@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk does get a reply, although they say they don't deal with these errors but will forward along. I also sent a letter, Royal Mail Recorded, detailing their error and the Post Office's refusal to process. About all that can be done in this sit...

Re: Name on Biometric wrong

Ok, just in case this can help anyone else here is what I did. On Tuesday when the error was noted, I sent an email, subject my Home Office Case Reference Number, to nationalitybiometrics@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk I sent along a picture of the letter, with the Post Office’s written refusal to process, w...

Name on Biometric wrong

Guys The Home Office dropped my middle name when they issued by biometrics letter. No real good reason for it that I can see, I had typed my AN Form, rather than handwrite it. Section 1.6 clearly has two names not one. Refused at Post Office, woman said it was the second she'd seen today. Don't know...

Re: UKBA reply over Naturalization employment history

I still can't get my head around the point of self-declaration of the employment. HO should contact HMRC themselves. I'd bet that by having applicants state employment history Home Office can then ask about periods of unemployment. This would lead to queries about how did an applicant support thems...

Re: Query regarding EEA family members

Good luck on the day. Thanks for helping to settle my nerves -- I've been reading a lot but haven't seen too much detail on what to expect while at NCS, so this helps. and I definitely will bring my wife's passport. I was already planning to bring the wedding license so obvious gap, good suggestion...

Query regarding EEA family members

Guys I'm applying via NCS Tuesday and (rather obsessively I'm afraid) reviewing my application before hand. I have a query regarding section 2.4, EEA nationals exercise EC Treaty Rights. Specifically, its says "if you are an EEA national or the family member of an EEA national ..." Wife is...

Re: Need to file US tax while living in the UK?

“She does not need to file US taxes if her annual income is less then a few thousand dollars.” . careful there, I’m a US Citizen who has lived in the UK for the past 17 years. US Citizens MUST file tax returns, every year, regardless of income. Same as in the United States, by the way. Yes its a PIA...

Email from Home Office / UK Visas?

Hi guys

Curious, what domain does email from The Home Office or UK Visas originated from?

I'm about to submit my application and would like to whitelist the domain, since I get lots of spam. I don't want to accidentally delete an important email.

thanks !

Re: Applying at NCS Tuesday

... Very unlikely this will catch you out if only 1 day absence in past 5 years but you will need to show you were physically present in the UK exactly 5 years ago to the day on the date that HO receives your application. (You can usually use stamps in your passport to do this). Good luck. I took m...

Applying at NCS Tuesday

Hi all I’ve got my NCS appointment Tuesday AM, trying to make sure I haven’t messed up. American, I came to the UK in 1998 on a work permit for one of the Investment Banks. Extended work permit then I took Indefinite Leave to Remain (IRL) in 2002. I’ve completed the May 2015 AN Form, have reviewed t...
