I checked with HO.

It is affecting only those who had HSMP at some point in time.

Not affecting Tier-1 migrants.

Is this ILR in-person cancelled for HSMP only or both HSMP and Tier 1?

I have been on 4 yr WP + 1 yr Tier-1 and have booked personal ILR appointment in mid June.

Can I still go?

Hi

Can you please explain exact who are affected? I have appointment in Birmingham in mid June for ILR.

I have been on WP for 4 years and Tier 1 for 1 year.

They did not tell me that I can't do it in person when I booked my appointment last week.

So, what's the situation now? Can Tier 1 to ILR be made in person or not??

Very strange why HSMP -> ILR can be made in person but not TIER 1 -> ILR

The SET(O) form says employer's letter is not mandatory while applying for ILR via Tier 1.

I might get a job while actually applying for ILR, but I'm more worried if I have gap in earning in previous 1-2 months.

I'm not alone - some of my friends are also in same tricky situation.

ILR possible without job?

In next 2 months time I'm going to complete 5 years in UK. WP + Tier 1 combined. But I have now lost my job. In this recession, I don't see easy way to get a job immediately. If there are gaps in my earning (1-2 months I may not earn anything) will they give me ILR? Does proof of economic act...

Can Tier 1 candiates apply for ILR personally?

From the SET(O) document, it is not clear where I can apply personally or only by post.

I am currently Tier 1 General migrant and will soon complete 5 years combined as WP holder + Tier 1.

thanks

The last news came out about this during February 2008. Then it was mentioned that it will be discussed in parliament in November 2008 (this month). But after that, there was no discussion about it anywhere. Some newspapers then mentioned that it might become a law from 2009 or 2010. But you never k...

A caution is not same as Criminal Conviction. (though your data still held in police database)

So, is there is a question whether you have a criminal conviction, you can safely answer "no".

If you qualify in tier 1, then your new visa will supersede your current WP Dependant visa.

If you're application is rejected, your WP dependent visa will still remain valid .
